First skating day in the ASICS. And while I hate saying something feels “broken in out the box” damn did they skate well. I did wear them for 3 or for days prior.

A little grippy on the flips which is to be expected of a new shoe but I had a heavy ledge session that felt some natural, I thought I was wearing my old shoes.

Posted this in the shoes you're wearing thread, thought I'd throw it up in here as well.

Remind me of Busenitz ADV in the best ways.  Into them!

If anyone wants a pair of lightly skated Cream Japan S in a 10 I'll cut a pal a deal, but I have decided to move on.

Couple new cws of the Gel-Flexkee dropping. I'd like to try a pair one day but $160 seems a bit steep

Weren't feeling them? I started skating mine and I love the flick on these shoes. What were your gripes with the shoe?

Not really, no. Only thing I liked was the aesthetics

Gripes:

* The toebox is kinda high profile, higher than a Dunk. It is very vertical and there is unnecessary room there.
* Related to that the shoe does not breathe very well and this summer it gave me hot spots since there is enough room in the front to move my toes around.
* Flick gets meh after the rubber wears away where the sole meets upper.
* Grip is good, sole is flexy, but nothing amazing.
* Midsole is a generic lattice like design that doesn't do much for impact. The raised heel makes it harder to swap insoles as I would want to do.
* The overall fit feels a bit dated to me. The tongue is puffy in kind of a weird way towards the top and the shoe just doesn't fit me as well as any NB offering.

Overall they're good shoes, but not great. I don't see a reason to pay $100 for them but I would buy them at reduced price again. They're broken in outta the box which is cool, but that's not a massive selling point since my other shoes break in fast. I can get 440s lightly used or on sale for $35-$55 and they perform better overall so it just doesn't make sense unless I am strictly being anal retentive about swapping an N for another logo.

i think its just kiko kostadinov's streetwear subline otto858 using the flexkee silhouette so not really part of the asics skateboarding line i think but the soccer toe is a nice touch.

I see. I do agree with the notion that the shoes should be cheaper though. $100 has been hard sale for a lot of people and even if the shoes skate good, there's not enough technology to justify that price point. I just hope they start releasing more shoes that have more to offer while also looking good. Thanks for the feed back though!

Ya it's honestly weird that they're doing such few shops, such limited inventory, and not doing re-ups on colorways. It's like a Dunk approach without being a Dunk although I'd skate them over Dunks.

well that’s because you are all set. you enjoy your club c’s, your cute fits….
i’m out here struggling. looking for a spark. something. gotta get wild, shake it up.

i used to try anything that came out, e-cues spring to mind, and those worked for me. most skate shoes look so safe, these do not, which makes me want them.

as opposed to other model
On this page that looks like you dyed the 80s sitcom character Alf green and burned him with a lighter?
I doubt that I’m ever going to be their target market (because they don’t give a fuck about vegan shoes), but they need to just stick to simple/ classic silhouettes, I simply posted because it’s probably a sneak peak of what you’ll get in the US in the upcoming seasons.

Edit: also my bad for not reading the caption, it is indeed a kids model LOL

anyone know if they're gonna drop more Gel Vickka colorways? saw that Gino pair is apparently Japan only? Not crazy about that blue one from the last drop but hope they do another similar colorway to the first black/white or navy/black Gino

i KNOW YOU DO: and i’d enjoy looking like that too. keep doing it.
when i try to dress myself….the results are not great, not even good. and it’s not news to myself, i think i’ve relayed on here how at one point around 30 fucking years old, i was outside, in emerica cords, and a faux leather krew coat with the faux fur hood. probably had a flat brim with a gold foil sticker. kind of like dipset + baker….

so now i just wear my very obviously ‘i was just at work’ clothes, 100 percent of the time, as just a total abnegation of fashion responsibility.
and for some reason i’ve been thinking some flexkees added to a wardrobe that looks like a painter after digging a ditch in the mud, would be just the thing.

I got excited because I saw a red pair and a cream pair in my search but they were on ebay and a shit ton of money so I'm assuming Japan releases
