Are you talking about the ledge or Mike York?
[close]

Both, time kills everything…

A friend of mine met him at the Venice curbs and said that he was nice but also very out there and seemed perma-fried. Said he wasn’t skating but just watching and rambling about random stuff.

York is the man.  Definitely a little bitter and maybe somewhat fried (but who isn’t).  He’s definitely still skating well, and skating those curbs at a high level.  He will heckle pedestrians who show even the slightest hint of attitude, which is pretty hilarious at his age.  He’s just a funny and nice dude.  Fucking legend.

I’m not the biggest Ted fan, but of course I can’t be since I’m not Ted.

He mentioned on the Mostly Skateboarding podcast that was it for this season, I'm still hopeful for a NY / Philly episode, or a crossover one with various crews for each part of California. Like Sk8mafia for SD and Tiltmode / Louie Barletta for San Jose, granted they aren't the most architecturally interesting parts of California.

Wish these guys were still at it, they were on to something about how where you skate in the world affects how videos look and feel.

Union Square?

that would be good, Fort Miley and 3rd and Army would be good

3up and 3 down would be fun short one.

Aside from Union Square, the others aren’t public spaces - though I would love a 3rd and Army history lesson

If they’re doing NY next they should give upstate some love and talk about Empire Plaza in Albany. It’s not as famous as Blubba or Pyramid ledges but the architecture there is so cool. I bet there is an interesting story behind it all.

This post had me curious. 3rd and Army is a public space called the Islais Creek Promenade. Ted has half the episode research done right here, https://www.jstor.org/stable/resrep22909.4

Definitely a potential fruitful episode.

I thought it wasnt just him solo, shouldve stuck with my og thought.

Oh cool I remember people saying it was filled with bus fumes so I didn’t think it’d actually be a park but I’ll give that a read

Know what would be sick. If 18 could find more footage of Sean Young at Union.

Anything would do. I feel like it's a sin that his name doesn't come up more when I talk with the youth.

Sean Young was an amazing skater his name should ring out

I skated with Ted a couple times a few years ago by coincidence. The first time it was like I could telepathically hear his feedback voice critiquing my shitty trick selection and tank top in my head.

Great series though.

Muni is all electric and biodiesel so bus fumes aren't really a thing anymore but there's definitely a stagnant bay aroma that wafts up from Islais Creek.

Thank you Ted for letting us know that a plaza doesn’t evolve from a tree stump. Truly worthy of his PhD.

I work with folk that have PhD's that couldn't change a light bulb.
That said stoked there is more episodes.
