I use to love Roger skateboards and to an extent I still have a place for them in my heart being from Tx (956) and all but Sienna is such a pretentious ass, and mediocre artist who accuses everyone of ripping off his graphics. There's a vice article where he talks about how Shawn White and Target stole his graphics, Children's Place stole his graphics, Target stole his graphics etc. Did you ever think maybe your style just isn't that unique and you're a mediocre artist at best. Here is a response to an article he posted on vice accusing of Children's Place of creative theft only to back track and state this " It turns out that my design for the Secondhand Stoke logo is not only not an original concept, but it's something that apparently dates back to the 1950s. And it turns out the The Children's Place t-shirt actually might have predated the graphic I created for our skateboard video which means I'm probably going to be scrubbing some toilets this summer. Which actually isn't that big of a deal because I worked as a janitor when I was in my 20s so I'm really good at mopping, scrubbing, and wiping. I'm going to try to draw something original now. Corporations from steal from artist all the time. So when you’re a somewhat successful artist and you see corporate drop some similar shit, taking legal action is the easiest way to get answers.

The designers should easily be able to provide process evidence that proves they didn’t rip him off. In this case children’s palace definitely did and he had to eat humble pie and drop the suit. These are billion/million dollar corporations. I’m sure legal action from sieben did not put them out of pocket.


Anyway, it’s perfectly fine for you to not like seiben or his art, but this feels like a reach. I enjoy his art, but not his humor personally.

Michael Sieben is a friendly, talented, hardworking, and generous person. Probably one of the coolest people in all of skateboarding. Anybody who knows him personally or professionally will tell you the same. He is genuinely super down for Austin skating and skateboarding in general. His constant work to keep his brands afloat (or resurrected), not to mention all his work for No Comply, is heroic considering he has successful careers in art illustration and editing all the copy for Thrasher.

You may or may not like his artwork style, but he has been super productive and consistent for decades now and you should respect that. From his illustrations to his zines to concert posters to the old Internet Shack show to art installations, Sieben walks the walk. He may be a 'dork' (he'll be the first to admit it), but that doesn't mean he's a kook. Far from it.

There is probably a thread deep in SLAP about Target stealing his artwork; that wasn't just them doing a similar skull faced drawing and him griping. It was 100% a copy a specific piece of his art
