Kinda whack for him to be calling Ryan out like this frankly. I don't disagree that the editing style is similar but Brad is far from the first person to do this "lifestyle" fly on the wall type edit, and Ryan's stuff is pretty varied, he has videos where he does a lot of talking to the camera and some that are closer to what Brad does. Even if Ryan was "biting", people can interpret that how they will on their own and calling it out only makes Brad look whiny. He seems to have some awareness of this but decided to say these things anyways for some reason which is perplexing. Just do your thing and if you're genuinely the more original "artist", people will know that.

Ryan Lay replied to a Cromer comparison saying he’s actually influenced by Scott Gall for his vids

the difference between ryan and brad is that ryan's hitting his stride and dropping some career-best parts on top of his youtube stuff, meanwhile brad's only real output is these little edits and his huf part had several tricks that were so weak, multiple people on this website could probably do them

Both Lay and Cromer are two of my favorites

but to say Ryan is biting is weird. Half of Lay's first one was him hiking no?

as someone else mentioned Lay has one just talking shoe stuff

would love if they both kept going!

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

I apologize for always making everything about AO but he would really shine in a self shot fly on the wall style vlog he could edit and release at his own pace.  There I said it.

Also come on Brad, chill the fuck out. You're the most try hard dude in Miami with you're head to toe expensive vintage gear even tho you have a paying clothing sponsor. Ryan is far more genuine, entertaining and has more originality than your fake Levi Silvertab persona, get over yourself. Ryan>Cromer all day.

I love them both for different reasons, and they also skate completely differently.

BUT brad did call them the "Cockatoo Twins" when talking to Fusilli and it made me question his motivation for the vintage music tees.
like, is it love for the music or is there some clout-chasing involved?

regardless, I won't hold it against his skating at all.

Pretty sure he’s stated that he wears whatever just based on vibes and doesn’t care about what’s actually printed on his clothing.

maybe that is the case.
but, to a point, why would he feel the need to pay such an absurd price for something he doesn't really care about, and then modify it?
must be nice to spend money like that haha.
and at least he looks good in the clothing he chooses.

ryan lay has had youtube channel and uploaded for many years now

and considering his most recent run of uploads with the silent vlog style, the first one is titled "ode to scott gall" acknowledging that scott gall did it first so cromer is definitely mistaken if he thinks he's being ripped off

I think it’s okay for someone to draw inspiration from you and put out content based on their interests l, sometimes those interests do cross into shared territory and I could see how it would be seen as biting, iono I enjoy both of the channels and thinks there’s enough room for everyone, except John Hill, fuck that guy

Holy moley this is some real baby man / wah wah stuff hahaha.

I like his YouTube channel and I’ve been a big fan of his skating since I first saw his stuff in Krooked’s naughty. I think his skate fl2 part was my most watched part for a good few years. That said, this is sort of embarrassing.

Thank you Brad for inventing selfie iphone footage, posting selfie footage to YouTube, baggy pants, looking at nature, denim shorts, and skating to modest mouse. You did it first! Anyone else doing any of this is biting you, the true original. I appreciate you being brave enough to speak out about the largest social injustice in the world right now lol.

Didnt bum me out on the guy. I’ll still watch the YouTube videos and his parts and stuff. Just an “oooof okay buddy - reel it in” moment.

I skated this park across from the beach in NJ and I filmed some clips one morning and the ocean when I walked the beach after and figured I would make a Brad Cromer inspired video. When I got home I started filming this tree in my front yard and after like 10 seconds I felt like an idiot lol. I went inside, drank champagne, read Eric Ripert’s cookbook and listened to “racks on racks” which I also filmed and made my slightly Brad inspired video.

Funny because Brad’s always gone inside after being outside. Not saying you’re biting, but if you go inside maybe just give him some credit or don’t be as obvious. I like to do a little shuffle so my neighbors know it’s me and not Brad.

That was part of what made my video Brad Cromer inspired. If I ever meet him I will crouch down so I can tell him face to face it was a homage.
