Radical and cowabunga
I use both at work because everyone knows me as a mid 30s skateboarder and it kind of funny

I take back my comment about “bussin” being the worst. Dank is a felony. Usually committed by people who have multicolor shoelaces and wear a lanyard from a music festival

I haven’t heard anyone talking about “shredding the gnar” in a long time.
That’s because the full vernacular is: “shredding the gnar-gnar brosef, mad sick lines.”

...glad to see a few others are uncomfortable with tre flip...

I despise that term, and will never utter its foul sounding hokey-pokey gibberish.

Do kids still use “Yo-flip” for a 360 flip but the back leg far apart from front.
People also used to call it Stank leg but I preferred Yo flip.

Holy hell. Totally forgot about that. Yes, and it's hilarious. I'm bringing that one back.

I'd say in general trick names have become shorter. We used to say the whole name, like frontside 180 kickflip which became frontside 180 flip then frontside flip. In written form it's even shorter: fs flip. Or ollie impossible or backside 360 ollie which are impossibles and back threes now.

Is “sick” still alive?

Saying “sick” never seems to get old for me, especially in light of all the trendy lingo that has come and gone since the late 80’s. I say sick at least once a day.

I wonder how long it will take for “wet” to become dated?

Sick is still alive and well, maybe even more so outside of skating.

I just thought of another one. "Catching air" when someone pops high or does a big trick. Like "you caught so much air off that launch ramp." I think kids used to say it for other stuff too like bmxing.

”Righteous” is gone.
Does anybody say ”hella” anymore?

I always wondered when somebody said ”hecka” in an interview, did they really say it or did the mag edit it?

I can't think of any sk8 terms, but I think it is hysterical that we collectively in America still call these the same thing as we did 30 years ago.

I feel like I also may have explained this. There were three "Trick Tips" of the impossible: one with the hand spinning the board, the other with the front foot, and the "ollie impossible" to differentiate from the others. Same with "ollie kickflip". The original version was flipped with your toe underneath the deck.
