They should make your shoe, but continue the rubber slightly further back and make the stripes thick sprintskin and that shoe would last forever

The reviews on the Nike site say the heel padding is shit which is goofy since they are supposed to be one of their more cushioned models. Never seen one in a store.

I'd still like to try an 8 if I could get one of the less shitty colors.

I was looking forward to trying them out bc they remind me of the Koston 2. They don't fit ANYTHING like the Koston 2. I put them on and the toe box looked so wide and rounded that they looked like duck bills on my feet. The fit isn't slim and tight like the Koston either. Definitely felt on the wider side, and I thought they were a little long in the toebox. Not dogging the shoe, bc it does get good reviews (that WearTested review is really good), I just knew it wasn't for me just by trying it on.

Can anyone recommend to me a shoe similar to the Koston 1? I stocked up on the black/white colorway two years ago, and I'm on my last pair. The colorways and materials on the Koston 1 are pretty terrible now.  I've been looking at the Lakai Griffin XLK, Westgate CC, and that Etnies Hook-ups shoe.

I think Heritage has mentioned that the #NB Straford (sp? right model?), the cupsole that PJ skates, is similar to the Koston 1.

I think.

Can confirm. Its a little more stiff/supportive, but the shape and cut is nearly identical. I've compared em side-by-side. Also the Koston Huarache is very similar to it as well. I know they look odd, but the only real difference is the sole shape (deeper tread) and the heel piece. I think they should have been the "true" Koston 2.

Thanks, guys. The Stratfords really do look similar to the Koston1's.  I think I'll give them a shot.  Does anyone actually prefer the Koston 2's to the 1's? The 2's just didn't work for me at all.

Koston 2s were imbalanced bullshit. Way too many design tweaks at once.  Clunky sole, stiff upper, zero ventilation. The Huarache is better in every way. I have another pair in the mail now. (Tip: swap the K1 and Huarache insoles and both will feel like heaven)

I bought a pair of the koston huaraches in the black friday for 60% less. I just wore them 1 time but they fit a little tight in my nike true size. Do they took you a long time to break in?

sup I am new here

I am wearing these adidas soccer shoes to skate and they actually skate surprisingly good, feelin' is pretty great. They been holdin' up good too.
I am regular but I mostly skate switch, as you can see on the shoes. Barely though, my camera sucks dick.

I don't agree with that at all. I think the Koston 2 is one of the best skate shoes made in the last few years. In fact I am glad I stocked up while I had the chance. The heel lock is unmatched and the fit is pretty tight toe to heel. To each their own, for sure, but I don't think they were imbalanced bullshit at all. Some people look for different things in skate shoes - so it's important to weigh out opinions in relative context.

For a time I did prefer the 2 to the 1. They're both great shoes for their own reasons. I was bummed when Nike removed the Koston 1 from NikeID. I think the Koston 1 is probably a better "all around" shoe and it fits a wider range of foot types. Where the Koston 2 fits so specifically that it's either going to work for you or it's not, right out of the box. You know right away. If that makes any sense.

EDIT: I also noticed Nike now puts Zoom insoles in Koston 1.

I pulled out an old pair of Nike SB Dunks from my closet. Probably made around 2010 or something. They're really comfortable and they have a great shape. But do they feel slippery to anyone else? I feel like my foot is going to slide off the front of the board when I'm doing anything, even an ollie.

Do the new dunks have better grip? I notice that they have a different sole than the old ones.

Different tread pattern on the sole. Also, the heel pads on the inside shoe. Lace protection as well on the newly designed dunks.

Just threw out my converse weapon lows I'd been skating from the summer, they were so smelly and getting pretty worn out. I got the blazers to skate in right away from my local shop, was trying random shoes on, and they fit my foot like a glove, so I couldn't pass them up. Stoked to test them out this week.

The Louie shoe I ordered to wear around and skate once it's spring. They're pretty awesome looking, don't find too many cool green shoes.

I'm pretty sure at this point ( as it's been discussed in multiple threads ) only the sole tech brands are still skater owned.  So if you're wearing anything other than those, you're supporting a large non-skate corporation of some sort  8)  Someone please chime in if I'm wrong on that as I actually am curious
There's this small European brand (not sure if it counts) but they're skater owned and pretty durable

I dont think they look that bad, but yeah they have some aspects they should change if they wanna survive.

1st, who the fuck wants a Mike V pro model in 2015? Why not try someone who still is relevant?
2nd, Change that cross logo, i know it makes an S of servant but people only see crosses and relate with religion and that's not cool in a shoe brand. In the Mike V model it kinda works because you barelly see the crosses and see clearly the S.
3rd, change the sole design for once at least. All their shoes feature the same sole. That looks borring/cheap/lazy.

That being said i kinda like their work.. Euro shoe brands are an rarity and their product seems legit. I've read some review about that dagon shoe and they last surpriselly good for a vegan shoe, so i'm interested in that 4skin stuff. Mike V shoe is solid too, could be an emerica shoe and nobody would notice. And they are skater owned guys, more core than Vans so what are you waiting for?

I'd be down to buy a pair/ support them if I ever actually saw them anywhere. That Mike V pro model actually works in 2015 as he recently re-released that graphic (also ties in with their vegan line despite vallely being on animal cruelty for 20+ years now)

A friend from Sweden was telling me about Servant. According to him Mike V has a shoe because he's an American pro. That was all the resume required. Also the cross and the brand being called Servant are intentional. As in Servants of the lord. I don't know if he knows what he's talking about, but I can buy it.

Ok, i understand the Cross/Servant thing but it looks bad on a shoe, at least make it like in the Vallely one where the S is enhanced and not the crosses.
Also there's so much more people in the US that deserve a shoe over Mike V. I think nobody takes Mike V seriously this days...
