Civ 6. I bought Civ 7 like a year ago when it came out and hated everything about it except the art style. I’ve tried to get in to it multiple times over the past year but can’t do it. Doesn’t even feel like a Civ game. So I went back to 6 and im having a blast.

Beat Silent Hill 2 for PS2 yesterday. Fantastic. Nothing much more to say. I’m very fortunate to have been able to play it after missing out on it when I was younger.

Enjoy it! The remake was my first Silent Hill and I absolutely loved it. Ended up playing through at least 4 or 5 times in the year it’s been out.

I’m playing Winter Burrow right now. Pretty fun but it gets a little stressful sometimes. Survival games are like that to me.

Took a break from Final Fantasy Tactics after seeing this added to the NES Classics on the Switch. I never played it when I was a kid, but I had the first one and loved it, even though it's incredibly hard. I got through the first level, but died because the wind kept blowing me off a ledge.

Started No Man's Sky on Steam Deck after having it on Playstation for like 8 years.
Already put 6 hours into it and actually really loving it this time. Previously I only got a couple of hours in before bouncing off it. This go around feels like the one.

It's very chilled and seems perfectly suited to a handheld.
It is initially a little difficult to get to grips with but once you do it seems like a one of a kind game. Plus they give you a lot of granular options for aspects of difficulty / friction.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been one of the most incredible gaming experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing through. Never in my life have I played a game that has made me genuinely care for the people around me like this one has. I’ve wept multiple times at moments in this game just from the shock of how brutal your friends’ deaths are.

She’s the best. If there were a way to just run with her the rest of the game, I’d be all over it. Still can’t believe we had to watch Hosea and Lenny’s fates unfold before our eyes without being able to do anything about it.

Fallout 4. Had played to the point of needing to side with a faction and commit to an ending so I just started wandering the wasteland aimlessly, picking up side quests, and clearing out buildings. Life happened and I put it down for over a year. Picked it back up and my character was basically unstoppable so strolled through to the end. The Fallout games have been some of my favorite gaming experiences of all time. Never tried '76 since I heard it isn't really a single player story driven game like the rest. Glad the show doesn't super suck either.

Mortal kombat 11. Used to play it all the time 5 or 6 years ago at my buddies house while we got baked. It’s just as good as I remember. The krypt is a sick addition that really scratches my completionist brain

I tried 76 after playing almost all of the other games in the series, and it was pretty disappointing. Even playing online with friends, it felt very chore-like and the exploration didn’t feel as rewarding as with the previous installments. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time but it didn’t feel worth using up all of that storage space.

Steam sale on Orange Box for like $3 and I couldn’t pass it up. Can’t wait to dive back into Half-Life 2.

Re-doing Doom Eternal Expansion pack on nightmare and the regular Sessions (waiting for the extras go on sale again).

I tried Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and I just can't get it into it. Most expensive game I own (fucking Nintendo never puts any of their titles on sale... I can't believe they still charge full price for for shit like MarioRPG, a game that came out what, 25 years ago?), but the least fun so far.

Try checking out pawn shops and second-hand stores for Switch games if you haven’t already. You can occasionally find them for half price or less. I understand why Nintendo CAN do it (re: never putting their IPs on sale) but it’s fucking asinine for them to do so.

Word, thanks for the heads up. I heard they improved it a lot since launch so I was curious but I'll continue to stay away. Hopefully the next offering will be a return to form. In the Fallout universe my character is always named Roland Deschain, dresses in a duster and cowboy hat, and carries an over powered revolver. Need to keep that going.

RDR2 made me cry my fucking eyes out. I cannot give this game a numerical rating that would reflect just how incredible the experience has been. I am so glad I finally gave it a chance.

God of War Ragnarok (PS5)

I only have a couple hours in but I know this will probably be one of my favorite games after completing the main game and the Valhalla DLC. Graphics and story do not disappoint.

That game and Mario & Luigi Brothership were $25 last week at GameStop. A couple other Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda games were $35-40. Nintendo does do sales for some digital games with their characters but it’s always a couple years after release.

I got mega pissed off with Adobe for their psycho consumer politics, cancelled my subscription and got back into piracy.  Then I found out about Crossover and that combo kinda opened the floodgates. I'm currently replaying  Witcher 3 after ten years and that game is so insanely good and beautiful it blows me away. Got Cyberpunk, RDR2, KCD2 and MGS V lined up next, kinda fearing for my private life...

Man, the difficulty gap between Ultra-Violence and Nightmare on Doom Eternal is insane.

I was completely punished doing the Part of One of the DLC on Nightmare but on Ultra-Violence I made it through the first section without dying once. I made tons of mistakes and still made it through without a single death. The jump difficulty is a little unreasonable.
