TMNT:Cowabunga Collection:
I played the first game for thirty minutes and it’s kind of boring. Maybe, the newer games in the collection are better.

Spider-Man:
I just want to finish the last chapter of the DLC before I play the next two games. Shit feels so lame after playing GoWR.

Helldivers II on PS5 has been a fucking blast with friends. Nothing like getting home after a long day and mowing down some bugs and terminators with the homies.

See a friend maybe once or twice a year who always asks me have I finally played Chrono Trigger. I really really should.

Been playing a bit of New Vegas here and there. For some reason Psychonauts 2 hasn't clicked yet.

Same, need to get Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and Mother 3 crossed off my list.

Was a big fan of Psychonauts 1 and gave 2 a few hours, but after realizing I needed to back track constantly to 100% the game I knew my obsessive personality would make the game complete misery for me.

Been putting some time into Absolum, rouge-like beat'em up, liking it so far.

I had the first TMNT game when I was a kid and I think I only played it as much as I did because I loved anything TMNT at the time and the lack of owning other games. I remember really enjoying driving around in the turtles van, but getting easily pissed off at the rest of the game. Both 8 year old and 43 year old me found/find it to be a frustrating game experience.

Been playing the first red dead on my iPhone (with a controller) kind of amazed how this game looks significantly better than the original release. Runs great. What a fantastic game.

Beat RDR2 for my first time tonight. Beautiful and amazing aren’t strong enough words to describe this game. Straight to my top 5 of all time.

Revisited Expedition 33 over the holidays since I had a ton of free time and never really gave it the effort when I first got it. Ended up restarting the game bc I didn't remember what to really do and got fully sucked into it and beat the game. On top of the story being great the music was absolutely fantastic.

Since getting a Steam Deck I've really played a hell of a lot of games, mix of new games to me and older / classics that I love.

Today it has been Metal Gear Solid 1 for like the hundredth time, replayed one of my all time favs Volume - great stealth game designed to be like a more modern MGS1 set in a virtual "volume" setting, played a few rounds of Left 4 Dead, did the first 17 levels of Portal for the first time which was pretty fun even with a seemingly vertical difficulty "curve" and finally bought Cronos: The New Dawn for £25 and am very much looking forward to starting it.

Portal is a favorite of mine, but it definitely throws it in your face and says “good luck” at points.

I hope you enjoy Cronos more than I did. I haven’t played it since the first updates and the “new game” magic wore off and I left it kind of disappointed.

Portal and its challenge is funny, like I didn't really have any problems until level 17 out of the total 19.
Everything has been fun to work out up to that point lol. Now I know what I have to do in this level but fuck, it seems so fiddly and annoying. Very glad I played the game anyway, and it was like £1.30 in the sale.

I played the demo of Cronos a few months back and was really impressed with how well it looked and ran on the Deck, the setting and survival horror design really appeal to me. I was always going to pay attention to what the developer of Silent Hill 2 REmake did next and I feel like I'll really enjoy it.

What about it disappointed you? Did you end up finishing it?

The combat and inventory management was what really threw me off with Cronos. The weapons felt weak and the combat was pretty weak as well. I attempted to run in a lot of situations but it felt like I could never get away quick enough.
I didn’t end up finishing it, tbh. I tried to convince myself to go back but I just never could get back into it.
Atmospherically, it was amazing and it has some really good scares in the parts I played through.
Granted, this could be a case of me not being great with survival horror games, but those were my biggest gripes.

Okay cool, appreciate the detailed response.
I'm fairly well versed but by no means an expert in survival horror games - like I said I seem to really love that style of game design.
I held off picking it up due to hearing some complaints about the game becoming too difficult in terms of combat vs inventory / ammo management but took the plunge due to it having a new story / easier difficulty mode being added in the next few months. So if I find it too much I should have that to drop down to and lean on.
I only played the demo of course, but I really enjoyed the little bursts of combat I played.

Yeah the atmosphere of Cronos seems very strong, and honestly that's the main thing I took away from their previous game. Silent Hill 2 has the single most oppressive and dread-filled atmosphere I've ever experienced. I had to take breaks in playing it with Headphones- it was that thick and masterfully drawn.

Just completed the Act 3 final boss of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Game was hard as shit, which I like in games but goddamn, some parts made me angry. Game is phenomenal though and definitely lived up to all the hype it generated throughout the long wait.

Still need to finish some optional bosses and free DLC is supposedly coming soon, so I'll be sinking more hours into this soon.

Bloodborne, 2nd playthrough. I never beat Kos the first time, so I'll see if can get that W and can say i fully "beat" it.  Just him and Laurence left in the DLC and the 2 final bosses in base game. Larry has been beating my ass the past few nights. Idk if i rushed through, but I feel fuckin weak this time around.

Considering 100%ing too, but haven't looked too hard into it.

Also my cousin just hooked me up with this Steam family sharing thing, which basically lets us share libraries to download on our own machines. He has a fat stack, so I'm having some decision paralysis what to play after bloodborne. He bought the titles all legit, and says its his way of giving back after over a decade of sailing the high seas.

Far cry 3. For my first time. Its ok. I’ve played far cry 4 a few times over the last decade and I enjoy that game. But 3 feels watered down in every way. Obviously 3 came out before 4 so it’s likely that 4 would’ve been better but I truly don’t get the hype for 3. The story is kinda trash and the gameplay feels extremely outdated. Still something in me is driving me to finish it.

Stealth bow build was super fun in that game, and I liked the hunting mechanics. The tower climbing puzzles were kinda fun. That's all I really remember but I haven't gone back to it in years at this point.

Playing the trial for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on PSN right now. The battle mechanics are going to take some getting used to, but the story, characters, and environments are just as beautiful as everyone previously stated. I’m going to have to buy this game now.

Been playing punch club 2 recently. Got the 2 game bundle on psn for like 7 bucks

First one was fun but had a lot of flaws. 2nd is super engaging once you figure it out. Really unique fighting simulation and a lot of 80’s-90’s pop culture and video game references that make it more comedic and entertaining

Just booted up Skate Story, this shit's right up my alley. You're a demon made of glass, hellriding through some artsy vaporwave area's to complete your lifegoal: eat the moon.

Reminds me a lot of Sword of the Sea, while both aren't 'real' skateboarding games, they do feel a lot nicer to play than most skateboarding games out there.

Been putting hours into Absolum, rouge-like-side-scrolling-beat'em-up.

The combat is as deep as you want it to be and having a busted build can make runs incredibly satisfying. Lots of branching path and side quests with multiple characters for lots of replay value.

Got inspired to give Cronos The New Dawn another shot after Cheshire Cat mentioned it earlier in this thread. Picked up where I left off before and I’m enjoying it way more than my initial attempt. Good, scary fun with a good mix of strategizing your next moves.

Still playing Witcher 3 and the environmental design is so unbelievable. BG3 has the slightly better writing and I welcome the querness and sheer scope of possibilities. But the exploration aspect of Witcher 3 still does it for me.

I played Witcher 3 at the right time (during lock down), so I had plenty of time just to explore. I found I enjoyed the side quests more than the overall story (which I enjoyed also). I'm thinking about getting on Switch, so I can replay it without worrying that I'm hogging the TV.
