So much good shit over the years. The Gipper vs Mike Sinclair was an epic time. Never heard the word sizzle more in my life. [Allegedly] Ty Evans came on to defend his choices in Pretty Sweet. That thread ended up being pretty long.

These were some classic sigs that I always got a laugh at:

I heard from someone else that he's on cons. and the firm.

cons-firmed.

Unimaginable pain I would imagine.

Woah..

I miss shit_for_brains the most. Dude was forever entertaining then just dipped one day. His avatar was always Milhouse’s dad and one day their was a debate about clothes and some poster said “Post a fit fuccboi” and here’s what homie shot back with:

I dunno why I thought that was the funniest shit but it was in the moment for sure.

Theirs another one I can’t find about “what if your dad wrote his suicide note and hid it in the stash pocket of his Nike Omars.” Like what the fuck kinda thread happened to get there??

Some real highlights in here. Thanks @ferguu for being a catalyst and congrats on the new job or just not job?

Remember when COTG was talking shit on how transition skating takes no talent, and someone bet him money that he wouldn’t come close to filming a half decent transition part, and then he ended up rebutting by posting a short transition part but it was all basic mini ramp tricks?
It was pretty long ago so the details might be a bit skewed, but I remember being pretty amused by it. Can’t remember what thread it happened in.

Also, another funny one I remember was when Dr. Newton 2.0 got exposed. He immediately focused right after that thread that exposed him was made lol.

“Short transition part”, haha it was three tricks, one was a simple frontside standup grind and one was a switch frontside rock, also it was on a three foot high metal piece of shit mini ramp and dude had a year to film it.

Dude was nice with it on ledges but he thought he was the best skater on the boards and constantly told everyone he was better than them at skateboarding.
Definitely entertaining but holy shit he was delusional when he said he could learn transition overnight and be better at everyone who posts here at it.

Actually kind of miss that fuckin character haha

My personal highlight was when I went to California and drove from SF to LA and Mark Whiteley more or less laid out a complete travel plan for me.

Even though it really shows my Slap age… The Vov Vurnquist / Chris Hansen beef is all time. Had a blast a few months ago explaining that to my boyfriend. It was even better when I served the actual Chris Hansen at work on Christmas Eve. He called me buddy.

Also, I ended up becoming really good friends with some people on here. Two of my best friends in the world are obvious stand outs, as well as meeting heckler after close to two decades of internet friendship and meeting iwishilivedinfinland while he was on mushrooms haha.
Also, being offered a ride to a city demo in Detroit when I was in highschool (lol) from stabmasterarson, meeting sidewalkfunk, and skating with pizzafliptofakie are all highlights of mine. This place is sick.

Best of luck with your future! Make us proud

Hey all! Wow what an amazing turnout! Thanks everyone for the answers, so nice to read through.

I thought I should say I'll pick the winners in 2 days so get in while ya can. I'm counting all the entries so even the charity ones or the Fred Gall one (think I'll just buy something from Metal in that case).

But obviously no repeat entries I think that would be unfair. I count 35 unique entries so far btw.

Again thanks everybody! I think I'll have to change my favourite slap memory to this thread :)

Oh also, since somebody asked, I'm quitting my job for this big hike in the Scottish highlands, and then moving to a city to begin my life for realsies.

I haven't been on Salp as long as many others, but I think when Andy Roy and his girlfriend, Pira? came on Slap, rambled about some drunken drug field night where they had an altercation with Tony Trujillo and his wife Trixie, and accused Tony of hitting Pira or something like that, and then Tony came on Slap to defend himself, and told people if they had any questions, to message him on Instagram "like a man".

That was so awesome. It was like a living trashy reality show, playing out in real time on Slap.

I had never felt so connected to the skateboarding industry as I did then.

I haven’t been here very long either so no specific memory but in the short time I have, I’ve witnessed a ton of generosity and knowledge with a lot of shit talking mixed in. Good fun and definitely my kind of community.

I've lurked since Brooklynbrawler and Mike Fork and had a few accounts that I focused well before Pal. I remember gipper vs the Will Easley, sharktits winning a secret Santa, Rusty Berrings ups and downs, losing 360frip as well. no one w/ his many accounts, Tracer being a thorn in sides. I really like Rockadio420, Toby and fulltechnicalskeezy. there was also an older skater who was friends w/ SD pros and held down the post you skating thread. friends w/ T-bone and Mayhew.
the tale of Thrillho and the ladyboy. some other funny awkward sexual experiences.
The kid from Quartersnacks dollar stories getting roasted every time he shared a video.
the incel postman (if that's the correct term).
Uncle Flea is the best current poster.
PRiya was known on the boards as Skateboard-P. she bounced off Andy Roy onto Brian's Patch and OF stardom.

Don't even  know if our timelines have crossed paths, but I realized that was the same reason I was on slap so much back then, I had a desk job 9 hours a day.

But anytime someone asks about a favorite memory on here it would be trolling the grind king tm on here. Just all of us putting the poor bastard through the ringer, and just ripping him from neck to nuts.

Also really enjoyed participating in a neen stylin thread because my photoshop got a good reaction. 2018/19 was swell. Reminds me of my old apartment and skating a lot.

What was the name of that one kid whose video part got shared on here and he got torn to shreds? There was that hilarious clip of him rolling down a driveway and he made it look like he was rolling down Baxter Street. I remember it got made into a gif and was people posted it a lot.
I also remember for a while if you used to post the word “flick” on here it’d automatically get replaced with a photo of his face.

You're trekking through the Highlands in the middle of winter? Big respect. Also please have some kind of emergency plan/locating device. Weather turns quick and people die out there quite frequently. Enjoy and take a fishing rod! :)

Hey thanks man! Yuup it's gonna be tough, apparently it gets to -10 at night but we've all invested in some good thermal gear, and it should only take about a week so should be fine... Still I'm freakin out about it a lil haha. Really one of the first hard things I'll ever do in my life but I wanna prove I have the capacity.

I just finished reading Blood Meridian, and I know it's a story, but I couldn't help but be like damn... people really used to live like this everyday. The brutality of it all. Everything is so unforgiving. That's what got me hyped on trying this.

IDK how to fish but my friend is bringing a pole I think. Might learn how. Wish I could bring some kind of grass board that'd be sick haha.

Nice one! Highlands is awesome for how quick it can feel like proper outback expedition with the harsh weather changes and spread out country. At this time of year though if you're doing overnights up there I really think at least one of your crew should have an InReach or some kind of emergency GPS device and have an idea about what to do in sudden whiteout blizzard conditions.you got that covered yeah? Otherwise I vote you keep the money you were gonna give away on here and buy an InReach

Thanks thanks thanks thanks all of you, a million times over until the heat death of the sun. It's corny but I think this place made me who I am. And you guys are this place. So thank you.

Thanks @ferguu

This made me check paypal for the first time in years and it turns out I had some money sitting in there haha! To keep with the theme of this thread I took the money you sent and the money I had in there and rounded up a bit to donate to Brave Space Alliance which helps LGBT youth on Chicagos south side and Chicago Recovery Alliance who travel all around the Chicago area to provide Naloxone, clean needle kits, and other harm reduction/recovery services to some Chicagos hardest hit and most marginalized communities.
