Skate life for dudes that smoke weed is easer because its a social drug in skating. 90% of my friends that used to skate and smoked marijuana was more popular and chill dudes. Maybe it was only drug efect. But in other hand I never had that patient to only talk bullshit about nothing.

Yeah, that's a fact, lookers they are not. They do skate good, are fairly durable and I've been guilty of rocking them a lot, especially when they faded out of the mainstream limelight a bit and could be had for a bargain. But the look down factor was never there, to say the least.

Well damn, and here I was thinking my opinion was an unpopular one just due to how much praise I hear about shelltoes in some circles.
Drake Jones, Chico, and Kalis made them look decent, but no one else really comes to mind. Kader looked better in Vans. (Sorry Gabbers, love ya and still love your skating, but the shelltoes are gonna be a no from me dawg  )

I’m literally on the fence about it today, it’s precisely what you said that bugs me.

Outwardly though, I notice on some people they just look long as hell,  even in regular sizes, plus I don’t know where I fall on the chuck Taylor spectrum.

Gonna hard disagree here. If it’s below 35F outside I’m skating with a beanie and my hood up, and with gloves on.  As do most people I see skating when it’s that cold.
