Today was my day off so I was reading at a nearby apt's pool I frequent when a guy rolls up asking if the pair of damp basketball shorts hanging on the fence were mine and if he could use them.
He changes into them and then starts chatting with me, asking if I smoke weed, then asks if I smoke fake weed i.e. spice ( a friend just reminded me that the local variety has been sending dozens of people to the hospital recently but I guess that had slipped my mind). At first I tell him that the stuff has made me tweek out in the past so I decline but after a tiny bit of consideration I tell him one puff couldn't hurt.
It comes on strong (I hadn't smoked in a day or two so at first I didn't think much) and the guy continues to chat with me about his recent past which includes just getting out of jail, dodging out on his pregnant ex-girlfriend, etc. As he piles on the sketchiness my anxiety and paranoia sky-rocket. I contemplate jumping into the pool to cut the edge when a girl I've had a longstanding crush with the largest most beautiful breasts walks in with her boyfriends young daughter. The ex-con starts talking to her and all of this way too much for me to handle so I bail and go home to do all o fmy dishes and garden.
