If I were to order these should I do my Dunk size (true size for me)? I’ve actually never had Superstars. Do the ADV’s fit the same as the regular superstars?

Damn, I was not aware of those.
I think it’s pig suede, and they look beautiful.
I will try to get my hands on some. I honestly never liked the adv vulc version. Pretty sure those don’t have the massive adiprene insole, they just look like a beefed up regular Superstar to me (which is good).

I'm heavily anticipating a response on the insole question.
I hated my Superstar ADV because of the insole, as many other seem to agree with.
These definitely look a little more potato-like, which I like. Hopefully they've updated them to be more like the Campus ADV which I still don't like that much but I will probably buy.

Vans is so close to making a decent strap/slip on cupsole, but the just keep blowing it aesthetics/design wise. I'm really not into Vans at all to be fair but holy shit, how do some of these shoes look so bad. Hoping some other company can swoop in and make a laceless cupsole that isn't ass.

They don’t have adiprene, and they’re kinda perfect. Just got a pair, theyre basically the superstar 80 from the originals line but with tongue centering straps.

They don’t have adiprene, and they’re kinda perfect. Just got a pair, theyre basically the superstar 80 from the originals line but with tongue centering straps.

Pretty sure they use the tooling from the Superstar 50, which is the “ultimate” superstar they made for the 50th anniversary in 2020. My boss worked on those, the plan was to make a in between of the 80’s (slim) and the RT (fat), so they could just make one shoe instead of two an make fashion and comercial versions depending on materials. I think these ones are just a skateboarding version because they use thougher materials, double stitching (and tongue straps) like you said. They probably have the updated ortholite insole like the 50 one too. I also noticed that those don’t have any adidas skateboarding branding on them. They just say “the brand with the 3 stripes for skateboarding” on the insole.

That's kind of what I was thinking, as far a making a "new" superstar that is sellable to both commercial and skate industries. That seems like the direction Adidas is going with their collabs/colors.
Wasn't there a fatter Campus version too? I think it was the Campus ST. I liked skating those better back in the day then I like the new Campus ADV.

Those are the last model of the Superstar ADV, they've just released this new one without adiprene.

That pastel blue color was part of a pack with yellow and pink colorways, straight Easter.

I think those smoky Blondies would be good were they not translucent but instead the color they appear to be in that pic. This is coming from someone who has always thought that Superstars look fucking terrible.
