Even though State are thin vulcs nowadays (they were slightly less thin a few years ago), their primary redeeming factor is that quality insole. It's 10 times better than every other stock insole out right now. I have a handful of pairs from old States I skated.
It's on par, if not better than the lunarlon Cons used to use before their shoes and insoles went to shit.

I wish they would use that cupsole on an actual upper and not that stupid Pacifica Van's knockoff. It needs to be on the Elgin, Salem, Mercer, or a similar shoe.

Really hyped to see that that cupsole. Maybe it isn't the most original design ever but it's a simple clean cup which is hard to find. I like supporting state so I might pick that up. Maybe uncle Fred's shoe as well.

Volcom is owned by ABG,LLC who is owned by BlackRock, Inc. - the world's largest coal investor and is the US's largest weapon manufacturer through it's iShares US Aerospace and Defense divisions. Some companies that you would think are small and independent are owned by companies that are very much the opposite.

Maaaan, fuck Authentic Brands Group. It was all downhill for Volcom after they were acquired by AGB.

In the wake of this COVID economic downturn, they fired like 1/3 of their staff. Maybe more. Three of my friends at Volcom in apparel design/development lost their jobs only like 2 weeks into the nationwide shutdown.

Glad to hear the State they own isn't the skateboard footwear brand.

I have two pairs of them that I've been holding on to and swapping into various shoes that I feel need a little extra cushion. One of them the felt is peeling off the Lunar and its a serious bummer. If I found an older pair of shoes with these insoles I would probably buy the shoe just to have the insole.

You can turn any Vans Classic into a Pro with these and we all know the Classics feel better than the Pros.

Ive been skating the Campus ADV's with the Zoom insole from a previous pair of GT Blazers. Fucking best decision i've made for my feet skate wise
