Sal Barbier’s homages to Jordan were all sick in my opinion because they would not be mistaken as trying to pass as legit Jordan related merchandise, aside from maybe a few twenty three skateboards graphics but those were sick in the context of a board graphics where bootleg type design just seems more sick to me idk.

The Koston es’s with elephant print were kinda lame in my humble opinion. Thats’s just doin to much. Like when Sal used elements of the Jordan 9 his SLB model, that is sick because it’s a little more subtle. The Jordan 9 perforation stripes are a little less in your face than the elephant print which literally just screams Jordan 3. Previously, when Sal put 23 on his Sal 23 it’s sick because despite using Jordan’s number they are obviously not trying to pass a Jordan and that shoe became its own cultural icon within skateboarding.

Lol when I was a kid I remember getting roasted for years because I never had a pair of Js, but I’m sure my mom was hyped to only spend $50-$70 for skate shoes.

My moms boyfriend managed a footlocker and was from the hood of Philly. Safe to say my little white ass had all the Jordan’s and timbs as a kid. Gained a lot attention from the black kids at school and in the neighborhood that I didn’t understand for years. Even in high school I was so confused by the hype around both cause I had so many pairs as a kid.thought it was just another shoe.

The G6 insoles from the pair of the laced version I had wasn’t foam but gel instead. That could be why.

Mine literally disintegrated from the inside and I stopped skating them after about a week.

After my first pair of wino slips I went back to vans and the vans wasn’t as comfortable wasn’t as nice. I wore them to do yard work and bought another pair of wino slips. Ended up tossing the vans out to see if someone would take them. Sucks you had issues with the winos you had. The ones I have has hands down beat vans Slips in every department. Now if emerica will just make a wino slip cup! With that flick shield from the Dickson.

Been wearing Vans slip ons for 25 years and just got some Winos. Winos are less bulky and to me have a better insole. I don't like the current Vans insoles they're too damn thick and bulky. The Winos seem to be wearing less so far. Definitely stoked on them.

We have something special in the works 

Stoked to see how many of you have tried them coming from Vans. I was always a fan of the Vans slips but haven't gone back to them since getting the Winos when they first came out.
