I’ve only seen Lakai on sponsored riders in the wild who is actually buying them?

I see Lakai shoes fairly regularly. More so than New Balance or Cons. This is not just in my local area but in other parts of the USA as well. Lakai probably doesn't sell as many shoes as they did 10+ years ago but they are still moving a decent amount. I saw probably 6 or 7 pairs at one of my local parks today.

I see this same question about Girl and Chocolate on Slap as well. But I also see plenty of Girl and Chocolate boards in the wild.

Aside from a small handfull of hargoods and softgoods brands, who have fairly even popularity nation wide, most brands have different pockets around the country where they are much more popular than others.

Lakai and emerica/etnies are very popular. I skated Waller in SF for 6 months straight this year and they were constant. And that's a coastal city where you'd figure otherwise. NYC is a different story but I don't skate Brooklyn parks that often. Anyway

What slap perceives as reality and what happens in reality are two very different things.

scenes vary. Where I live, if you go south, people skate a lot of Lakai, and NB, cause the shop there gets the full line of NB and Lakai releases when they drop. The rest is just season-old DC, es, and Emerica releases (Which makes me wonder if NB and Lakai are easier to work with) There's not much competition in that area either, so no nearby zumiez or other places that would carry skate shoes.

I have never seen an etnie at waller before. I see slightly more lakais recently with the telford reissues being a dunk alternative. Emericas slightly less common but do show up. Of course its largely dominated by nike, adidas, cons, vans, etc...  I have seen slightly more last resort lately though.

Assuming it’s not Nike, since you’ve posted in this thread.   If you don’t feel comfortable naming the skater, at least name the brand.   There’s so many that have gone w/o a pro shoe in the past decade

These have a noticeable difference with the tongues

The maroon ones have the same tongues as the pair i got earlier this year. 
They didn't work for me.

 the stitching on the tongue killed my foot across the toes

Hopefully the blue ones are better.

How was the heel lock? They look so shallow I've been nervous to spend that much cash on a shoe and hate them.
I think they learned on the price though... the 2nd run of colors were listed at $100, now they dropped the newer ones to $80 I believe.

I tried them at the shop and you have to go down half size. I'm 9US on almost everything besides CONS and some Vans pro, and I had to go 8.5 on those gazelle for them to fit

seemed ok.  The heel tab is quite high compared to the rest of the collar so locks your foot in fine
insoles were straight to the bin .  But the tongues were chainsaws

I paid $45 aussie dollars due to a sale + discount code.
So i wasn't too disappointed

That's technically, Sheckler's last pro model, but they did a similar "designed by" thing so Sheckler got a check for original design, but it also became a team model for everyone to rock, get colorways, etc. That might be the case here, where Simon designs it and then they're gonna do team colorways, and maybe even have future colorways/versions by Simon. Idk, I got too much time on my hands to be thinking this deep about current Lakai

I remember reading that the Project BA wasn’t a true pro model bc of tax reasons (?).   Can’t source that bc it’s been like 10 yrs
