The downside to doing that is there is usually glue or material stuck to the shoe once you remove said piece.

i've removed swooshes off multiple nike sbs and they were never glued on, i've seen it done with vans and they didn't have glue under the stripe too, i think that's rare if anything

Less ideal solution visually but better functionally: just black out the flames with shoe polish or a sharpie. Used to cut the logos off every shoe I got but that little bit of "leather" can make a canvas side last way longer.

I know everyone loves Carroll and barely anyone remembers that shoe but could of just remade that. (Also would of been 20 year anniversary)

I think it's these altho they did them again a couple years later with a vulc sole

I don't remember that being dark days it was kind of the classic comeback (altho vans were always fairly popular where I was from) Rowley pros might of been the comeback of the sidestripe and vulc sole but around that time they redid all their classic shoes on that cupsole with padding (dollin no skool, AVEra, TNT had the slip on, Rowley slims were basically the sports)

I wish vans would do another release of the agah, but proper without the added ankle collar padding the pop collaboration did making it much beefier than needed. Like if they married the style 112 with the agah it would be perfect. The slimness of the 112 pro with the simplicity of the agah

I actually hate that time in Vans history mainly because I'm deeply offended by cupsoles that are designed to look like a vulc. It's just so stupid looking. Also they took all those shoes and made them into a chode with a super short toe box. Basically everything was a Knu Skool.

The other thing to note is it was that time where we had just come out of the craziest tech shoes but it was like the companies didn't know what to do to attract customers or make them feel like they were getting their money's worth so every other fucking shoe was some all over print and/or wacky colours.
I think to be fair tho this wasn't only vans and I personally do have a soft spot for certain shoes from this time. (And a bunch of stay goldish era emericas which are kinda the same thing)

They look ok, probably is just the colorway which is not very flattering

I know we've already done a round of they look like "____" but they really remind me of this cheaper runner called the air axis that looked like you could skate it. Especially in that colour.

Also remind me of an early 00s shoe (but in a good way) where they are technically lows but are prob the same height as some mids (minus some space for the ankle bone)

Also also the white socks look good but if he has on some navy socks oof mumma Mia schaaawing etc
