AVE posted about his new pro model on IG. Claims he was working closely with the designers for the past 2 years on it. I’m sure after the initial marketing push is over, he’ll never have a photo in it again, just like the first AVE Pro.

I fuck with it and I like that Vans is trying something new, but I also liked the AVE Pro 1. I just don't get why AVE is getting this design - I guess because they're hoping he'll help them sell? I think it probably worked with the AVE Pro 1, but that one seemed like a logical leap from what he usually wears. These just seem way out of left field. But yeah, I'll wait until they're on sale and try them out.


Weirdly, looking at the catalog for the other, non-sockliner AVE Pro 2 now, they seem weirdly bulky. I never thought that before haha.

Good to hear, and I’m in the same boat. These sockliner is not a skate shoe. That shoe will be done in half a session with that nylon. Idc what tech they put into it.

Not to derail this into another Sole Tech thread but someone tried to make the analogy that everywhere in the city carries Nike, but our local is the only shop that carries Sole Tech, therefore we make up a bigger percentage of their sales compared to Nike SB. Given this analogy you’d think Sole Tech would want to maintain a good relationship with these accounts but obviously not.
Obviously Zumiez is a bigger account than any local but you’d think they coulda given the heads up that Zumiez was gonna get to drop these first. Constant D2C sales and now giving Zumiez priority, Sole Tech seems to be doing everything in their power to get accounts to drop them.

I kinda like the colorway of the Telford. For sure I would cut off the public enemy logo in the tongue and take the thing off the shoelaces
