Am I the only one who feels that aces feel tight with both washers on? Is this how they should feel?

I think this is due to cold weather making the bushings feel harder - I'm located in a very hot/humid area and mine felt very wobbly at first, and seemed to graduate to a happy medium after break-in. Perhaps you're in a colder area? Maybe "factory tight" isn't too precise?

Yeah, but I have both bushing washers and the nut barely hanging on and they feel to tight when I push them down with my hand, they turn but I feel them tight

Any advice/tips on putting kreper pins in? I have had some for ages but scared to fuck with my favourite truck. Do the kingpins come out easily?
[close]
I find a really good flat parking block and line the hole in the block with the kingpin and hammer it out. Magnesium is brittle and will crack more easily, so it would help to use a rubber riser pad to disperse some impact from the hammer. They did come out easily. As for how I got the mag plates - they're old - they were in stock at socal and just kept them for a while. I have another set as backup with the kingpins still in I bought from a Pal here - cheers!

Any JB weld or glue for the nut? What kind of JB if so.

I use one on top only.

The bottom doesn't fit proper unless you put both washers on the bottom.

I recommend this if you like really really loose trucks.

Quarantine has helped me figure out the perfect truck. 44s. DLK. Stock bushings, top bushing cut in half. Left all the washers on.

That top bushing always gives problems.

Longer Dlx decks or shorter nose and tail decks I’ve found to help pop with aces. 8.06 31.9 full shape with the 14.4 wb work very well with aces

Don’t have to think too hard about it. Get a quality board from a shop you want to support and skate it.

By top one do you mean top bushing? So top bushing is bones hardcore and bottom is stock, or do you mean washers?

Im currently riding with bones hardcore soft and both washers still in, and its a dream.

Do you use Taobao? I've found Ace Trucks on there, along with Theeve and Destructos. They ring up at around $45-50 USD before shipping. You got a size you're looking at?
Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI

Sorry if it’s already been talked about, but anyone try 1/8” risers with Ace’s?

I plan to get a set of Ace’s but I know they’re lower than Indy’s. Just curious on what people thought.

I THINK I did....that’s burnt.
Why tho? Aces are good up to 56s, easily, imo. I think ace was listing them as 52mm in height.

Yes, they end up being about the same height as standard Indys. They feel good both ways, though. If you're running a wheel with a square profile like a tablet or a conical I would recommend the risers.

I use 1/8 risers nearly all the time with Ace. I prefer the turn and pop without risers but its mostly wheel bite city for me without risers.

Never got to axle, haven’t had a baseplate problem.
I want to get some 33s, and I’d be stoked to try 03s, but trying to consume less. So instead I’m just typing about it on the internet.

I was enjoying my 44s, but only when I was riding like 56s. If I skate a smaller wheel I was having pop problems. And I need all of the help getting off of the ground.
Ace turn is the best.
Does anyone else notice less pop on ace or is it just (most certainly) me?

For me Ace pop is perfect on steep kicks with little to no fingers of flat. I think it’s because they pull the wheelbase in more than most other trucks, so when there are fingers of flat and/or mellow kicks they pop terribly for me. I’ll usually go Indy-Venture for those decks depending
