Have been working on this badboy for the past couple of days, and now it's finally done! It was an old, used DGK board before I decided to cut it into a cruiser, erase the graphic and handpaint it. Pretty happy with the result!

Where are you on the east coast?
[close]

Portsmouth New Hampshire (with a weekend trip to Burlington VT thrown in the middle) till July 13th.
Ah cool, I've never been further north than New York.  I should take a trip up to see the wonders of New England sometime soon.

New board for the shop is coming out tomorrow

I went subtle with it. the text is actually scrambled like a composition notebook. I think it'll look good when all set up.
and to think those images were once on my phone.
Man, I cant wait till my next handmade project, this whole computer bullshit doesn't even feel real.

Yeah I met the whole crew during my stay this time. My good buddy is Alex, the kid that always rides the giant orange cruiser wheels at shitpark. he built the weird lumpy quarter and lumpy smokestack/lighthouse bank. They're all good dudes, Rice knows how to cultivate greatness and keep the kooks out.
But I'm back in the desert now.
Moving back east hopefully in less than a year though.

it's pretty bad, I know ;D

at first i was gonna let your cruiser board in the "set-up" thread slide, but this clearly belongs in the "griptape art" thread. so go delete your cruiser from the set-up thread and put that in the cruiser thread where it belongs after you delete this and put it where it belongs.

nice killer. real nice. awesome shape, cool concept for rails
how wide is that? I've noticed recently there are more and more small trucks being brought to market with all these minicruisers that everyones putting out now, thats probably the cherry you should top this sundae with when you get the chance (even though those ones you've got on it now are pretty close).

I really like that this thread has started to cover everything from graphics, shapes, concepts, completes (and yes, even stealing the occasional grip art job from THAT thread)
Keep it up everyone. MOAR.

^ I just checked for tracker mid-tracks to recommend because of your post.  I bought a pair when I made my bananaboard.

Then I found that because of Penny Boards popularity you can now get Penny trucks for a bit less.

ooooo I don't like it one bit. I might have crossed some lines with my pocket cruiser, but still... outright softgoods now?

They do look pretty chill though, Chill.

I come to the thread with a board not my own. This is found art.
And I realize on the surface level, it might just seem like a sticker job, and a dull singular one at that...but I think given the subject matter...there is something incredibly perfect about it.

Just bought a Roger, the shape and size are perfect (as the other Roger I had before was), but I'm gonna be doing a little re-working to the graphic over the next day or three. Something about the bright primary colors with white...it's like that Dill board i made into my arm contour line drawing...it just looks too "little kid-ish / Lakai mid '00s colorways" for my personal tastes.
Find and follow me on instagram to watch my process, I'll be starting after I eat some lunch today.
I'm sweatercuff on there too.

If I went to that much effort on a board it would never see the street. Straight up on my wall.

If I went to that much effort on a board it would never see the street. Straight up on my wall.

See, I approach it from a similar standpoint as those Tibetian sand paintings.

If you're unfamiliar,  it takes a group of monks days, sometimes even weeks or months, to make these large, intricate patterned designs out of individual colored grains of sand on a giant tray. And when the piece is completed, they carry it to a body of water, and pour it all away.
Everything is temporary, and the "distruction" of the piece is just as important as the making of it.
Thats a pretty skate friendly idea, and also, nothing makes a graphic look better and "real" in my opinion than signs of use.

The only time i make art on boards and put them directly up on my walls, is if I don't like the size or shape, or its already been cracked a little.

The shop I ride for is just about 100% DIY, Its in Salem, or and is a shop called Everything Someone.

The owner has been doing graffiti art and stencil arts forever!!

All our graphics are sprayed in the parking lot and are all 100 percent unique!!

Check out the website: Everythingsomeone.com

I've only seen a couple of those but they are incredible.  Interesting comparison, I likes.
