Made this lil fucker. I hated the shape I started with, and then I had to keep making more small cuts to get it more symmetrical. Now its going to function as both a mini cruiser, and a dolly to make moving stuff like furniture easier cause it has no nose or tail left, non-scuffing carpet grip, and a super small wheelbase.

Graphic and rear wheelwells to follow, and lots more projects in the works.

- find desired photo in good res

- print it out

- glue it to the deck

- find some clear griptape

- put clear grip over desired photo.

- fuck lotta chicks due to your new justin bieber griptape.

You have to rubber cement the picture to the deck real proper or that shit bubbles and ends up tearing off of the deck completely.

I'm the undisputed king of clear grip graphix.

Word.

Wouldn't spray adhesive work better than some goopy brush-on garbage? I know it would be ten times faster, and way easier to quickly achieve an even coat.

Thats how I'd do it.

one things for sure, clear grip sales are going to soon feel a bump in the market.

maybe someone can help me with this problem:

what is the best way to get rid of the excess-glue after you ripped off old grip from the board? i tried to smoothen it out with a sander but it's a rather difficult. should i apply some sort of solvent and if yes, what is the best kind of for that? i don't have any boards or money to waste, so if i have to buy something it must work.

sorry for the regular question, but i only have this one board to go so i have to get it right.

its not a bad question, I've been searching for a good answer myself for as long as I can remember.
Sanding is not really an option, as it will just gum up sheet after sheet of paper
I've tried Goo-Gone and elbow grease, but the amount of effort it seemed it was going to take was too much for even my tolerances.
Other than that, I haven't tried too many other techniques (atleast none that were worth remembering)
if you find an answer, let me know.

i got two more old decks to try something out. i noticed today that wd40 helps a bit, but it's still a pain in the ass. i will try some of the more aggressive stuff and post here about my results. i just don't want to drown the board in anything that would be super aggressive to the resin/glue, the wood, or even discolor the stain.

Try acetone. Only go quickly so you don't let it seep and soak into the wood

Just finished up this board I made from that replacement Roger.
Hermit Tarot card.
Edit: made the picture bigger

This card can be interpreted two ways: First, the need for isolation from society to find ones self. Second, the need to return to and share gained knowledge with others.

It started with woodburning

and then I gave it some paint and a couple colored pencils, clearcoat, and then diecut out clear Mob griptape, and used Black Magic grip (duh) for the rest.

Gonna set it up after one last session on my antihero at the park tomorrow. that thing its beat to shit at this point, and will likely be being shaped into something else.

that board is really sick, again. nice theme also! the woodburn stage looked already great by itself.

Just finished this Halloween alteration of that new shop deck my buddy Josh just had released
it'll probably be the last non-skateable one i make for a long time, the first I've ever made with fake blood, and the last I'll make while here in Las Vegas.

Maybe if I had a stencil for each letter but I think it might be overkill, I really like looking down at this though

Bummed that the white primer is bleeding out from under the blue in some places.  I'm debating spraying it all black.  Can't wait until I piece this thing together.

looks good man! i didn't think the white bleeding out looked bad at all but it looks rad either way. i suck at drawing so i might go the stencil route when i finally get around to fucking with my cruiser.
Man the long board truck thing killed indy for me. I was willing to set aside the racism, but long boarding, gtfo... - DH
