...you must know that I'll be ordering a bunch of your decks if the shipping to europe wasn't a pain.

Also, about the No Logo policies on Ideal: what about some wood-burned mark? 'cause I believe that these boards have On-The-Wall-After-Been-Skated potential...

Thanks for the kind words Cosme
yeah shipping over sea's is pretty cost prohibitive. I would be pretty psyched to have my work travel that far though.
If you're ever coming to the states, let me know and we could maybe make something happen.

And atleast at the moment, I'm sticking to the no logo thing. The only place I would even consider putting one would be the topsheet, but even that still feels like some kind of wanna-be/corpo affectation. Also, unless the woodburning is super deep (like, through an entire ply, which could compromise the integrity of the board and thus, I'll never do) it can still wear away from skating.
But a logo isn't required hardware to make a board hang from the wall anyways. I assure you that you could hang them without needing some kind of corporate iconography staring back at you.

Here are some more, still WIP. I've been playing around with cutting my own shapes.

if you got any pics of the process and techniques you use id appreciate it chupa. im accumulating beer bottle caps to eventually glue on the bottom of a board (probably just be a wall hanger) but i would love to try to make a cruiser similar to your space ones if you dont mind me biting.

Sure man! I'll cut one today and document the process. I use a jig saw and a sander basically. I made a master template by measuring very carefully on a Popsicle shape to mark the center and wheelbase. I cut the nose by using a pen on a string (like cutting tranny on plywood) and I more or less eyeballed out the tail. Then, I just trace, cut and sand. Oh so much sanding.

It's the most time consuming part and the most tedious. If you haven't yet, invest in a rotary sander and some 60 grit disks. Helps a lot.

This one is my homage to Jason Adams Punk points

oh i was more talking about the painting style, like what you used for stencils, how do you get the fades and stuff. for the space one.

It's all rattlecan sprays followed up with an airbrush for the smaller lines. I use lots of different paints, ranging from Montana to OSH house brand (great stuff, and it's dirt cheap). I try to avoid using Rustoleum cause I've had some weird chemical reactions between paint layers.
It's all freehand, except the planet. I used a lid from a can as a stencil and dodged out around it with a very light spray. To get the fades, it's all about can control. The distance between can and board is critical. I use multiple passes, usually just "dusting" color on where I want it.
The really fine lines are done with acrylic inks and an airbrush. I usually dodge the other colors too, just to help with the transitions. The airbrush is way finer and you can get crazy technical with it versus a rattlecan.

And also remember to re-seal them after your done with the art so it lasts longer and has a consistent surface.

What do you use re-seal them? would just regular clear coat be fine?

and also i want stain the wood a nice color like most board companies do, what would i use for that?

Yeah, just a regular clear coat works fine. Go with just a few light passes over it, and then when it's dry, wipe over it with a rag so you pick up the surface layer of dust that tends to settle on top after sealing.

And I'm not sure the EXACT type of stain certain companies use, but if you go to your local hardware store you'll find next to the pre-mixed wood-colored stains, a "clear" type that the attendants there can mix with a certain amount of paint additive for you to give you most colors instead of just shades of brown. And I recommend requesting that they "go easy" on the amount of pigment or paint or whatever they put in there, because if the color is too subtle, you can always give it another coat, but if its too bold and opaque, you could lose the some of the grain detail.

Anyways, couple new boards to share, first one, HatRadio, sold before I got around to posting it here

i've done this like a year ago... it was made of an old used deck. I just used a hand saw to make a coffin shape, painted that graphic and put new grip.
i think it came out pretty good...  ;D
now i just need some trucks and big wheels... these are from my normal set up!

Home Depot has it, you just have to ask an attendant and they mix it for you. the clear stuff they use is usually in the same aisle as the premixed browns, but you need to track down a vest to get it made.
