Yes. It takes 10 years for someone to become a New Yorker ... to other transplants. To a native New Yorker, you only count as one if you were born and raised there.

ketchup and catsup are different romanized spellings of a chinese word because ketchup is supposedly based on a chinese sauce but I’m pretty sure it’s just an american food at this point.
