Been struggling with my mind, I feel like running and hiding. I don't know what to do.
If it gets bad dont try to fight the thoughts.  Ceasing the inner conflict can defuse things for you so u can get some peace.  Do u got a bike? maybe go out for a cycle.

Good find.

But, Christ, is that a midi version of that song from Tony Hawk 1? Who thought that version was "cool"? My ears hurt from listening to that 😁

Yes

but i'm the same. i'd rather have a normal day with some extended luxuries maybe, but no celebration. but i am also kind of anti social and if i meet anyone on purpose that day it's my closest friends or family.

despite that, i'm wondering if davethedavedave posting yes in every thread is some sort of life affirming philosophy thing.

When Ted Degros skated to Coldplay, was it ironic or something?

"Coldplay was Kurt fillipone's Idea. I wanted "the lights go down" by ELO, but he was pushy and I got what his vision was. I like Kurt. still do. I can live with that on my record."

Not to me. I cry on my birthday and spend it alone more often than not I'll answer the phone but that's about it. Every year I get older I get depressed that I'm still alive but the way I see it it's my day if I want to just sit around feeling sorry for myself like a little bitch I should be allowed to. Fuck surprise parties too

Do people who enjoy low quality subpar “relatable” skating also enjoy masturbating to the porn where the actor(s) are performing at an equal low effort attempt?

I’m thinking about quitting coffee but have historically not had the best record in quitting stimulants. Wondering if I could do it and, sanely, still work from 5am-2pm.

What?  Coffee rules.  I’m not one of those people that drinks it all day but I love a big-ass coffee in the morning.

You don’t need to tell me twice. I love coffee. However, I’ve got this idea that it would be great to stop relying on any stimulants for things like my mood or productivity. My two vices right now are coffee and nicotine patches.

That’s actually the fucking pathetic/ hilarious part of this- I’ve been using nicotine patches for years. I quit smoking like 4 years ago but nicotine has been a bitch to totally let go of. For me, and this is coming from someone who went to rehab for drug abuse, nicotine is by far the most difficult thing I’ve ever tried to stop.

I should probably get my priorities straight and stop relying on nicotine as it’s far more expensive and probably more damaging than coffee. Until then, I’m sticking to quitting caffeine.

EDIT: actually, I just made the mental commitment to try and stop using nicotine first. This is the first time I’ve written that down and it felt absolutely ridiculous when I read it. Disregard all my ranting. I’ve had 4 cups of coffee. My cognitive dissonance is off the chain today.

Coffee is probably better for you than nicotine. When I quit smoking the withdraws were horrible. Sweating, shaking, feeling sick 24/7. Went on for 2 weeks.

I've been drinking straight black coffee as of late and I like it better than I did before. I've been trying to lose weight. This weekend is my birthday and I'm tempted to take myself out for lunch or dinner. Ate pizza last night cuz I was super hungry but then my mom talked me into ice cream, which always makes me sick. Today I ate a slice of pizza for breakfast with some mushrooms and eggs. Then for lunch and 2 hours of intense gardening I had 3 slices of pizza.

Anyone got a good food to make one feel full? I've been eating a lot of mushrooms and those do the job but they are expensive.
Been drinking hella water too but it doesn't always do the job.

Potatoes man, making them different ways and switching up the spices or greens

Soaking/boiling your own beans as well instead of cans

Ramen with peanuts and other nuts from the baking section

Mind over matter though. Control portions

Thinking the quinoa is going to make your trip better?

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

I’ve been on an all mushroom and water diet since 2007 and never looked back.  It’s pretty sick and my farts are completely odorless.

I've been reading a good book about brain training, and I've been wondering how to further develop my prefrontal lobe.

Problem-solving is one of the major ways. The book asks the reader to think of the phrase "The longer drive home will get you there in a shorter amount of time," and then asks for an example.

Maybe my lobe isn't as strong as others b/c I really needed to think about it. But then a lightbulb went off and I realized it could likely mean that due to post-work rush hour traffic, taking the shorter route home will be longer due to all the cars taking the same route, but the longer route won't be as crowded and would actually take less time overall. And that's true - I think we've all taken backroads during traffic jams.

Anyway, the prefrontal lobe is strengthened by, amongst other things, imagining novel strategies for problems. And I'm trying to apply it to my everyday life for some of the problems I face - getting my wife and mom to be comfortable with each other and getting out of debt are two such examples. Maybe I need to do more research on both of those before venturing into creating strategies.

Could be. Maybe I'll dust off my guitar for the millionth time and re-re-re-re-learn the basic chords  8)
