For those not afraid of non-binary people:

Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado
https://www.netflix.com/title/81200204

I didn't grow up with him but it's a strange yet wholesome story about a Latin American icon.

For those looking for a good horror series:
JU-ON
https://www.netflix.com/title/81059942

Mini series supposedly based on true events in Japan. Raw and jarring.

I watched Mucho Much Amor the other night with my lady. didnt expec tto like it but it was really intersteing. dude had a magical charisma. the line with the bracelet cracked me up 'yes, its very humble, you like it.

I was extremely pleased by this haha I'm only up to episode 3 so we'll see where it goes from here

I watched both seasons and dig the show...most people don’t like mark Moran but I thought he was funny

I hadn't seen too much of him before this show (never saw his comedy etc) but he's made a fan out of me from the show itself.

His show was ok, I like his podcast.  I don't think his comedy is great but he did an ok job on Glow....

The Long Dumb Road was really funny if you’re looking for some comic relief.  :)

The Last Dance, that Jordan biopic. Holy shit is that good. Such a good soundtrack. The Phil Jackson part with all the old photos and Cream playing is such a cool little spot. I was gonna post the trailer but I think it doesn't do it justice for how good it is. I don't even watch basketball and I couldn't look away.

Green Room, it's a movie about a punk band who plays a gig at a white supremacist compound. And gets wrapped up in some shit. Sounds kinda shit at first listen but it's a great movie. Not 100% sure if it's still on Netflix.
Can someone explain in Fortnite terms?

They just added Juice. Watched it last night for the first time in like a decade. Crazy because a week ago I searched to see if it was streaming anywhere, it wasn’t so I was going to download it this weekend, then it got added. Great movie.

You'd probably enjoy this.

oi!

the first Mad Max is on Netflix right now...but The Road Warrior is not...which sucks, because it is meant to be watched immediately following the first.

i've always wanted to teach a course tussling with cinematic representations of anarchy, and these two originals together are one of the most realistic in my humble opinion--how beleaguered and pathetic the police are in the first one and the whole premise that when the gas stops flowing things will officially collapse is compelling...."the last of the V8 Interceptors"

german show about a kid selling mandy online who becomes a millionaire, real easy to watch, entertaining and pretty cool and the main characters mate lenny is sick at coding and that.

The Town is back on. It's my favorite Jeremy Renner role by far. He works best more as a bad guy/scummy dude than the Marvel role he plays. Also, I'm just a sucker for Boston and bank robbery movies.

The first 3 Jurassic Parks are up and Nightcrawler will be back on the 10th of this month. Also I remember really liking Safety Not Guaranteed, which will be back on the 13th.

Blue Ruin is sick.  I think I've watched it 3 times. It's from the director of The Green Room, the first couple episodes of the last True Detective Season, and Hold the Dark, which I was less of a fan of, though I'll probably give it another shot.

The second season of The Umbrella Academy went up a few days ago, I'm about half way through and it's just as good as the first season which I really enjoyed.

Steve Blackman did a really good job adapting the comic book to a Netflix show.

Do you know of any other bank robbery or heist type movies that aren't heat or den of thieves? For some unknown reason my favorite movies sit in this genre but are hard to come by. I've even watched the north hollywood shootout documentary & movie multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Inside Man is currently streaming on Netflix. That's a fun one. Also, they just took it down unfortunately, but Hell Or High Water is one of my favorite movies within the last 5 years or so. If you can find a way to watch it, I'd highly recommend it. Drive isn't bank robberies, but it's a great movie.

Yeah I've seen all of those. Hell or High Water is so damn good. Killing them softly isnt much of a bank robbery film either but has a good plot and writing about these guys who rob an underground casino then get a hit put out on them.

Hell or High Water is outstanding and a lot more than just a bank-robbery movie--especially as regards issues of class...almost makes me think of films like John Ford's version of Grapes of Wrath or the first Bonnie and Clyde...like this scene here:

Taylor Sheridan is one of the best screenwriters this country has produced--Hell or High Water, Sicario, and Wind River are all incredible

i did not know he wrote for tv...will have to check that out, thanks.

since y'all were talking about the bank-robbery genre and i mentioned the original Bonnie and Clyde above (from 1967 with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway), The Highway Men is on Netflix right now and actually pretty fucking good as well--even if it is trying to make Texas Ranger Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) look like he was some kind of civilized human being (all joking aside, i think it does an interesting job of balancing out how he is represented in the original film). Woody Harrelson is on point as Ranger Maney Gault too. here's the trailer, which is of course all ham-handed and cheesy and shit (there is no music like that in the actual film thank god) so don't let it deter you from the film, which is good:

i could discuss all day how/why a film is taking Hamer and the ranger's side in our current day and age in this country--it really does seem to be countering the original film, by clearly representing Bonnie and Clyde as the more monstrous of the sides and Hamer as a kind of misunderstood hero. it removed any suggestion that they were practicing a kind of class warfare against the banks and the state that protects the banks' money, and just makes Bonnie and Clyde seem like nihilistic and/or gratuitous murderers out on a drunken killing spree...
