Watched Season 2 of Squid Games.

I went in with really low expectations, but it has been far better than I expected.

i went in with high expectations and season2 episode 1 delivered....huge drop off for me after that, pointless character investments.  I know a lot of people hated the K-Rapper dude, but I couldn't stop laughing when dude was on screen, he kinda saved the season for me.  (watched subs over dubs)

Finished season 2 of Severance and I’m dying for more. Can’t believe how they chose to end it, but I’m looking forward to how season 3 will play out with that ending in mind.

watched totally killer with my kids and was surprised at how much we all liked it. obviously campy but well executed. good jokes, more interesting story than you'd expect, not too long. fun way to crush popcorn with the gang.

Deep Cover on Amazon is good light fun.   Actors get caught up in crime when they go undercover type thing

Anybody else watching The Walking Dead: Dead City?
Watching the season 2 finale right now and there’s a guy named Bruegel that looks and talks like the OG Steve Olson it’s fucking uncanny hahaha this dude is the spitting image I keep waiting for him to talk about the making of Thrashin’ or dating Melanie Griffith back in the good old days.

Finished watching season 4 of The Bear on Hulu, not their greatest effort but still like where everything ended up , Richie is the highlight for me.
Also the Faks, I’m pretty surprised I’m enjoying Matty Matheson’s work here, wasn’t expecting him to be a better than decent actor.

Started watching Chance, it's a dark thriller series written by Kem Nunn (john from cincinatti, Deadwood). There's no surfing and at first I found it dark and bleak, but im at ep 4 and its grown on me. A slower paced thriller with some quirk to it.

Started to do a re-watch of Boardwalk Empire to get more in tune with the whole politicians are criminals or vice versa. Its been going well. I initially watched while drinking when it originally aired, so its nice to have a clear mind this time while watching. Some great fuckin scenes already and im only half way done with s1.

Sinners is now on Max.   Also “On Becoming a Guinea Fowl” for the more indie inclined

I bought sinners… definitely worth owning if you’re into films.  Probably one of the best movie to come out with minimal special effects

Squid Game season 3 was actually pretty decent.

I’m probably heading towards deactivating of max and Netflix for the rest of the summer I’m not really finding stuff and just rewatched better call Saul for the 4th time

I just watched Sinners because my gf got a few glowing recs from friends/coworkers.

I thought it was fun, but I guess I was a bit disappointed because it got talked up pretty hard. Seemed quite critically well received too, 97% on RT. I don't think I'd buy it/watch it again, but I think it's worth checking out. The music was fantastic imo.

I noticed right after that Get Out is on Max too now? I still haven't seen it, so I'm glad to finally check it out.

I liked Nope and Us from Peele, but I still think Get Out is his best movie. Definitely worth your time!

hell yeah the new season was so good, hyped for season three that just got confirmed. As for style of comedy I can't really say I have recs. Most characters are just shane's comedy buddies so I do love their podcasts (MSSP, Stuff Island, etc).  If you enjoy Thomas Haden Church at least make sure you've watched the movie Sideways, he's amazing.

As much as I hate andrew shultz he's actually funny in this last season.   good show Shane Gillis is probably my favorite comedian at the moment

Such a strong directorial debut!!  Us and Nope get more rewarding to the viewer with repeated rewatches.  Nope may be nudging out Get Out for me.

Ryan should get the keys to a Blade movie.... hard to top the first one, but think he'd be perfect to direct it.

He’s doing BP 3 with Denzel.   I think his Marvel card is strictly Wakanda related

I dunno Blade 1 was special for the time it was made...and Wesley was in his prime.  But I don't think Ryan could make a Blade movie work and the Blade2/3 were pretty horrible too.  Not sure why they want to revive the movie, I thought Deadpool vs Wolverine did it best with his character.

I started watching Ironheart and think he want's to explore more community based aspects of black people rather than the fly in the milk scenario that blade was about

He doesn’t reallly have much to do with ironheart.   He’s just on as producer bc she originated in BP2
