I know it really isn't on sale but the pricing itself makes it technically.... on sale... lol. I ordered a set of shoes from Walmart and they are Etnies for 30 bucks. You can check the latest "What shoes you're wearing" thread for pictures of my new purchase. Shipping was $6.99 for me but here in Minnesota, we don't have taxes on clothing, including shoes and sports jerseys and stuff. So that saves me a bit of money.

https://www.walmart.com/search?q=etnies&facet=retailer_type%3AWalmart

I filtered out the above so that the Etnies that are selling, are actually from Walmart retail and not other companies selling on Walmart.

i honestly don’t know if you’re trolling or not, this dude’s technique is all wrong and it won’t wear shoes down the way a proper kickflip would. he kicks them down, his shits bounce of the ground, that’s not how you’re supposed to kickflip

This is my new favorite YouTube channel lol

The music instrument videos are even better than the skating ones

Control decks feel middling, they "sound" waterlogged but aren't, which can be an immediate turn off for people, something about the lack of concave on the kicks gives a dull thud but other than they they perform just fine at $16 for a shop deck. Just don't expect the same crispy feel of a BBS.

Anyone else feel like Control wood gets soggy extra fast?

21:10

I tried a bunch of their blanks and I echo Ben's experience. Brand new they never felt as stiff or snappy as I liked even with the steep or medium concave boards. Something about the flatness on the nose / tail contributed to the softness and I could never get the timing right on my tricks. Sound of the tail tapping the ground is very unscientific but they did not sound as crisp as they should, contributing to an overall mediocre experience. Rode 2 decks and retired them well before my standard 6 weeks.

Rave uses Control and my friend loves their boards, they hold up well for him despite being heavier and taller than me.

I like that they have a catalog of shapes (twin nose, twin tail, twin tip with 1 steeper tip) and concaves. But like Ben said they feel like shop board territory.

Check the time stamp at 21:10 for Ben's woodshop review with GH

Good looks

A shop that I really, really like and support uses control for their shop decks. I will try them from time to time but they feel heavy and almost “toy” like after a couple sessions

That seems like a really bad business decision. Maybe I’m misreading this, but couldn’t you get the membership for one month, buy as many boards as you want at 50% and cancel?

I guess it says “up to 50%” so not a guaranteed 50

Hopps is one of my favorite companies ever. Always wanna buy decks but don’t wanna get stuck with clutch. Maybe I’ll grab some softgoods and mags to support though. Thanks for the heads up

Damn, I don't need more shoes but that's a good deal to try the XLTs. Vans stores were barely getting them in to stock recently when I went to try one on. I'd recommend going 0.5 up in them, personally since it's pretty puffy

I got the XLTs. Most comfy Vans in a long time. I wear a 9.5 in Half Cabs. The 9.5 in the XLTs fit perfectly.

That NJ sale’s been going for a minute now. I got some decent items out of it, but the OJ’s for whatever reason aren’t discounting in cart.
