I think it has to do with Europe being in a recession and inflation is lowering in the US. Idk i'm no economist. I haven't noticed a dip in quality, I've bought 3 sets since the msrp dropped

If I had to guess, this is what I would think. When you have a flagship product it never looks good to *discount* it, even if you’re sitting on a ton of stock; ESPECIALLY when you sell primarily through dealers/shops. So, you re-evaluate and reduce the msrp, and ideally provide some extra margin to the shops to incentivize them to buy more Swiss.

But looking at the ones that are mildly interesting (e.g. Fastbreaks) there's full runs on sizes.   half off may just help them break even (or make a little tiny bit).  That's a lot of product to sit on.
