Same. Regular Jordan’s change color anyway, red leather painted black goes back to red, red leather painted white, again to red. Not an exciting feature. The shape of Jordan’s is excellent tho. Much better looking than dunks imo.

Good point: if they aren’t real different just skate the regular 1’s and avoid the tax.
Dunks are ok. I should go back and skate them more often. The hi’s look toddler (dunks). Both hi’s and low’s skate nice (dunks). Haven’t had Jordan lows....they’ve always looked kind of weird, in the moment. There is a ton of regular Jordan’s I’d skate, if I had money.

I actually checked out a pair of Jordan 1s at a store a few months back. The materials were alright but not up to the same level as a comparable skate shoe at a similar price. In particular, it had glued in insoles that were about as basic as any mid priced chain store shoe. They were also pretty much $100...maybe $99 maybe 90, I can't remember anymore.

I was thinking I'd be interested in skating a pair of them just because I caught them out of the discount bin in the late 80s and really liked the one pair I ever had but not at that price and quality. I'd be psyched to try the SB versions out but I'm super turned off by the limited colorway and availablity shit that Nike seems to love to do so I guess there's just no pleasing me.

There are folks in here talking about skating AJ1 Mids that you can readily find at a much lower price which is great and all but I would like to know how they compare to the the higher quality AJ1's with Nike Air on the tongue instead of a Jumpman.

I skated and still have my Lance Mountain AJ1’s. The upper is solid but the midsole seemed a little clunky compared to dunks. Still 100% skateable, but yeah they come with the glued in insole and are fairly stiff when you first skate them. Honestly AJ1 Mids might be the way to go. I’ve seen people skate them in person and they seem to have a slightly thinner midsole than the OG AJ1

The lance version are exactly the same as the regular Jordan’s. Nothing is reinforced or made better for skating. I like how this year they are including the zoom air insole. On my Jordan lance mountains I swapped the insoles out for the dunk insoles for the “sb” feel.

Just from the pics the og look like they have higher quality materials. The Jordan’s I’ve skated (all mids) had a sort of plastic feel to the leather. Just cheaper. The leather held up better than I can imagine that butter soft holding up tho. Small amount of glue on the laces and they were good for too long. Ripped the ‘insole’/piece of felt out and put other shit in, old zoom insole etc. I didn’t feel like the soles were chunky, or stiff. I also probably like a more substantial shoe than most. I’d been fine if they had been thicker for sure. The rubber ‘bumper’ (what’s the correct term?) that the stitching that connects the sole to the upper, sticks out and very slowly wears down. I found it helpful.

The upper was fine for me but the retro tooling on the midsole just felt like a block of rubber with a glued in insole. I got what was probably my best front heel down some stairs in them but I didn’t want to skate them for too long. I prefer the retooled SB Dunk sole but that’s just my preference

retro jordan 1 ogs are usually 160 so this will probs be around that price

Summer 2019 for the lows.

Lance Mountain and Craig Stecyk AJ1’s were both $150 retail.

Hope they are still $150 as they are an SB release not a JB shoe.

i guess itd be kinda corny, but a skate jordan division like what was rumoured with prod at the helm(maybe hes not relevant enough now?) seems like it might be kinda dope as there are many sick retro silhouettes that could be skateable or skateable with a little tweaking. most retro jordans are like $190-$200 though and they try to keep a good fraction of them limited, so i dont think it would really work for skating. i guess they pulled it off with dunks, but they werent nearly that expensive i dont think

I’d skate pretty much any Jordan retro. As I get older, and there more my feet hurt, I could easily see myself skating in $200 regular Jordan’s that might last a month or two. Fuck it.

kinda disappointed that the "skate shop" line still costs the same as all the other random shit dunks theyve put out over the years. on one hand i should stop being a cheap bastard but on the other hand £75 for dunks that are most likely lower quality than the dunks they used to put out at £50-55 is rough.

The price of Dunks is not going to go down. If anything they will get more expensive. Your best bet is that they overestimate the
comeback of the dunk and some go on sale... but then that would lead them to producing less in the future or making some dumb tweak
to the design like when they started putting less padding in the tongue and ankle collar.

thanks for hooking it up....spent the time between work yesterday to find some euro store that carries the gatos and dunk mids and somewhere on insta i been reading, that they drop next week in europe but i could have been misreading this...still hope i can get em!
