as someone who grew up in the height of circas fame, in what was seemingly their most dominant market (canada) those kelly green shoes hit my nostalgia sensors a bit different. they definitely remind me of a shoe that was worn by park heroes, bullies, and misguided teenagers that would ask for cigarettes at bus stations.
i bought the muskas around 2000 for something ridiculous like 200? and jamie thomas’ first model in 2001 i wanna say, but never the weird floppy insanely colored shoes that followed. i stuck with the emerica heretics, reynolds pro models, and rowley classics throughout the majority of that decade.
maybe someone on here who might have been a little older may have some knowledge as to why circa was so popular and sponsored almost anybody who was semi-talented from 2002-2010 in canada, but their shit was everywhere.
