Mason Colleti skates to 'Nothing' by Negative Approach in the new Deep Fried 'Pescado' vid

https://youtu.be/oFtX9ch_GLA?t=2190
[close]

Sick but i would say negative approach are more of a hardcore punk band than a hardcore hardcore band... plenty of bad brains, black flag, minor threat etc used in skate vids but rarely like chain of strength or turning point
[close]

not sure how to respond to this other than ‘nothing’ has got to be one of the most influential HARDCORE songs ever.
[close]

Yeah... it's still clearly very stylistically different to anything that would constitute the modern hardcore sound.
[close]

the rival mob song you posted wouldnt exist without it

And neither would exist without the ramones but that doesn't make the ramones a hardcore band and neither does it make negative approach a modern hardcore band

I never said that Negative approach weren't a hardcore band, lol.

On the subject of top 5s, what's everyone's early 80s top 5? my top 5 from the early 80s are:

Minor threat - self titled
Siege - Dropdead
Void - the void side of the faith/void split
Husker du - everything falls apart
Deep wound - ep

LOVED Culo but this is a take lol. Every time I did a show for Culo it was an absolute disaster. One time they showed up SIX HOURS late but also only wanted to be paid in a 24pk of beer. The time they played the 2nd year of the fest i used to do they fought a dude while playing, burned a flag, whipped their ass with it all during their set lol.

feel that lol. i've gone to all 9 years of it but this year is probably the one i'm least exited about, even though its still pretty stacked. you might dig Spy and Raw Brigade.

It's been a couple of years since it came out but some of you might appreciate Oily Boys from Australia. For fans of youth attack style hardcore.

https://oilyboys.bandcamp.com/album/cro-memory-grin

Not even sure if they're still active but they're worth posting anyway. Would have been cool if they'd toured the USA at some point.

Amazing UK Vegan Straight edge metalcore.

Late 90's style.

Incredible record.
