Broke my "no new gear" vow because I had to try the Dragons. I live in a rust belt city so crusty and decaying that our bridges keep falling apart, so I'm always interested in soft street wheels. The best ones I've found yet are the NFG 95A crust formula so curious how these compare.
Opted for middle ground with the 54mm v4 shape, though I kinda wish I had gone for the 56mm conical ones now. These are probably a better reference point for me though as I've skated this shape before.
Needed to get free shipping and the Enjoi wrasslin decks were on clearance for $35 so I snagged this one. Jake the Snake taught me a lot of valuable life lessons when I was a kid, and Caswell was always a highlight of the tilt mode and enjoi vids for me so it made sense at the time.
Dims are 8.25" x 31.9" 14.25" wb
Mellow concave/steep kick.
I bought this thinking I was going to put it on the wall some day but I kinda like the look of it. It's a little longer than my ideal, but should be doable. I like the taper and really like how flat the concave is, and the nose looks very skateable. The tail is slightly terrifying though. Shits long and steep as fuck, it almost looks like a twin nose shape or something. If they just mellowed that tail out and shaved like an 1/8th of an inch off it I would probably be in love with this shape. Madness has a square one with the right dimensions that I love but it's med/med and a kinda spoony mold so I would prefer this one with those dims. I really wish dwindle would start making mellow concave/medium kick decks over 7.5" again.
Anyways not sure if I'm gonna set it up or not. Gonna compare that tail with some of my steeper setups and see how I feel about it. My madness isn't completely gone because my first instinct was "oh this would be perfect for the new ace low 44" but I really don't want to buy another set of trucks. Anyone got a set you want to trade for indys/thunders/ventures/films etc?
The stickers are all an unexpected gift from the homie, got some really cool bronze 56k and side effect ones in there.
