I bought a roll of griptape.

I then used a old sheet of jessup I had as a guide to just the roll. Every sheet I cut was 2 inches to short. Original Jessup piece I used as a guide is also 2 inches short. Fuck me, and also fuck whoever I got that jessup from.

This weekend Powell upped the price of their Flight decks to $100.  Fucking ouch.

So I popped into Tactics and they had this one still for $83

It's the taper tail 248 shape.  I'm currently on the full 8.25" 243 shape and really liking it.  They are a bit wide measure out to an 8.38, which is perfect.  I have skated it on both Indy 149 Ti and Thunder 149 Ti.

EDIT:  The 243 shape measures big to 8.38.  The one 248 is an true 8.25. Same nose/tail/wheebase as the 243.

I'll probably set this one up with the Thunder and 99 Conicals and put the Indy and 101 conicals on the one I already have.

To look on the bright side (if you can) I remember running sheets sideways with minimal to no waste, like grip squares in the late 90s / 00s, which would cover five boards from four sheets of grip.

You could grip like that again which might help with that issue.

If you are a full black grip guy, maybe you could cut them up into squares anyway and market them as such.

A normal sheet is 9 x 33, so if they are 9 x 31, cutting them into 8.25 to 8.5 lengths would mean you get 3 squares (which you put on sideways starting at the tail end) and a strip between 5.5 and 6.25 left over which would adequately cover the nose, still gripping a whole board with no gaps.

Just a thought anyway.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Tried to film a ledge trick over the weekend and couldn’t ride away how I wanted. I convinced myself that I needed to buy the same wax that someone had on the session to redo the trick. I haven’t owned skate branded wax myself in over a decade. Also never thought that I’d ever buy anything from Grizzly. Here I am now

It definitely was the wax.

Not sure if I want to keep them as chillers or skate them. The Vulc has been good to me so far, wish the durability was a little better.

did they release that again recently? i have the 10th anniversary of the bible version

I wanted to read the first one for many years and ended up sourcing a copy from my library through an interlibrary loan. They got it shipped in from some university library in chicago at no charge and I got to keep it for three months. Support your local library!

Library’s are so dope. It’s also like a daycare if your kid is into reading. Maybe not now days but back in the day you could. The librarians would look out for the kids, asking what they were into and hooking them up. Plus there’s always books with boobs in it.
Also make great skate spots outside.

Library’s must get shit funding now days?

But this is the wrong thread.
Got this nice Cash Only belt yesterday.

My son (yeah I'm old) asked for a new Vans hoody so hit the outlet on the way home from work. Their version of a coach's jacket (Torrey) were $10 and 2nd one half off. So I ended up buying three. One for him, one for his little brother and the third to donate to the Christmas clothing drive.

Vans outlet prices are pretty amazing some times.

I think the Torrey Jacket is the most comfortable coach jacket on the market too.  Might just be me, but it fits well, is lined right through the body and sleeves and best of all it has a button right at the bottom.

Small things, I know, but it just works.

That’s the cowtown logo on the price sticker I believe. Their decks have always been a few bucks cheaper than other places I’ve noticed.

Got my hands on some Rowan Pros. Really comfy and good for the ankles and heels. But the toe box is way to wide for me. Anyone maybe has recommendations for a protective shoe with a narrower toe box? I am looking at the skate old skools, but hard to tell from pictures alone.
