I bought some of the new Black/gum 255s from newbalance.com. Got them today. They don't have tongue straps. WTF? This has been my favorite NB# for a few years but no more tongue straps? Sending them back.
How much for an order of ribs?

idk if this is the right thread, but how durable are the 440's? I'm thinking of getting a pair but I'm kinda worried about the mesh upper since I do a lot of heelflips. I also have wider feet, should I half size up?

I've been skating my 440s for a couple months and they're very durable. I'm a heelflipper and almost all the wear from them is on the outsole as opposed to the upper. I did superglue the stiching by my Ollie spot but otherwise  they're going strong with no shoe goo or anything.

My feet are wider but mainly at the forefoot and I wear my usual size. If you're wider over the arch, a half size might be good but you could be fine with your normal.

Is there a method to the way they come up with the model number for their shoes?

I think the higher the number the more technology is in the shoe, the lower the less.

Westgate's are 508 which happens to be his area code..and coincidentally it's the same area code to numerous bad muthafuckas on here. I believe that was mentioned earlier but it deserved to be mentioned again.  :)

978..617..it's all good  :) I didn't know Gonz has a place in Marblehead, I always wondered why he skated Peebuddy

yo, that's what's up!!!

I really dig it out that way. Spent a lot of time hanging out in Salem. I remember a big ass record shop in Gloucester where I was able to get killer albums very cheap.

Love the 440. The mesh is rather tough and kind of has a rubber feel to it. Very durable shoe even though I have had 5 pairs! I saw some new ones online that looked like the mesh was replaced with canvas? Also looking forward to trying the 508 as I thought the 288's had the best sole I have ever skated. My wardrobe is now full of NB#!!
They laughed when I told my friends that I was going to be a comedian.....well they are not laughing now!

YES! I couldn't remember the name. I knew some people that had a family shack on Conomo Point and would go up there sometimes. Mystery Train was the highlight

Vulcs fo.gp up to 399, then cupsoles. Higher the number the more tech they have (cushioning, quality of rubber, etc.)

If the D3 was released by NB it’d have a 5 digit number

DAMMIT I've been checking this thread and my local websites DAILY waiting for those wheat 1010's to drop, then today caved and bought something else. Hopefully I'm cashed up again when they finally reach NZ, I've gotta have these

Maybe @rothdigga can shed light on when they'll show up in NZ? I've got my local's website constantly open on my phone as I wait for these in the states, too.

Touchdown imminent
i have no clue if i will like the fit of these or not but i am going to cop regardless when possible, those white ones are so fresh. i would love some input on the fit of the 440 highs compared to the 440 low.
