Picked up what will be my fifth and last pair of 808s this afternoon, the Sea Salt suede with Black sole colorway. I will miss this shoe dearly, the 808Ls don't really appeal to me but I think I got all the best ones they did of the originals. Besides of course the Roland collab but alas in the 808 I wear the cursed 10.5 that never materialized in that shoe. I don't skate in them, I skate Cons and Vans but my collection of NB# chillers is growing large

You can't be wearing shoes like 808's and saying shit like "but alas", that's just not how things work.
It’s still a new balance. I think alas is apt.

My local got in the black/grey 480 and two things I noticed with these is that the tongue has straps on it as well as the weight of the shoe felt lighter. Hey Rothdigga!, are these to be expected going forward with the 480 model now?
Tongue straps started with the last Reynolds 480 we did and will continue from here on out.  Hope that helps!

Not ignoring at all!  I just got back from a 3 day tradeshow so I haven't been on here much.  Gotta ask the design team when the next synth is, we usually have 1-2 a year for you guys.  Give me a sec to check with them.

Never got to try a pair of the 808’s unfortunately. Normally wear a size 13 but I tried a pair on and definitely needed to size up. Everywhere either doesn’t carry a 14 or sells out of them immediately.

Concepts doing a 40% off sale (code F25) and they still have a 14 avail in these 808s if that helps

Anyone got eyes on the 440v2 high WIDEs? I've the low wides and the high non-wides and I can't bring myself to skate the hi-non wides (size 10.5, just worn inside a few times, HMU if interested). @rothdigga any chance we'll seen a synthetic high like the 440 wide (blk/olive)?

That new NM440VBS is the newest one if you want to search it out.  After that, I would have to look to see what's next coming after it but it'll be a 272 again maybe?  I'll see what i can find out.
These stall tactics can only go on for so long Jason, haha. Just tell us there's nothing coming and we'll stop asking and move on to buy something else

Can you return them?  If not that’s def something the claims dept could help with at NB (If our lovely PALS don’t first) bc that looks like a factory defect bc mine def don’t do anything like that

I remember my old Lakai's looked like that when I sweated a lot during the summer sessions but that looks a bit different on your 600. I was about to get these in a few days but now I am not so sure. Anybody here rocked the all black 600s? I think they would look nice with lighter colored pants and white laces on footage.

The new white/gum ones also look sick, just the different colors of the toe panel look a bit funky, but probably wouldn't be noticable after a few sessions.

Can someone who uses UK sizing for shoes explain to me how it translates to US / Euro sizing? Some websites are 1/2 a size or a whole size up between UK to US, and Euro numbers are all over the place.

generally us is uk + 1

9 us = 8 uk
10 us = 9 uk

and so on

eu sizes are indeed all over the place, adidas has the 42 2/3 and shit like that, it makes sense kinda because that way there are no gaps in sizes (for example something like 43.5 doesn't exist outside of asics i think) but it can get chaotic when you want to buy a different brand

if you want to be 100% sure check the centimeters

Yeah they seem to run haf a size small in UK. For example a UK8 in most shoes is a US9, but in NB it's only a US8.5. EU and CM seem to reflect the US size.

I wish I'd known this before buying a pair because it definitely feels like I'm wearing shoes that are half a size smaller than usual. Luckily I'm something like a UK7.75 so accidentally sizing down to a UK7.5 instead of up to a UK8 isn't the end of the world. Next time I'll be going for a UK8.5 to get my usual size though.

Exactly what I mean when I say it's a mess!

Maybe NB does their sizing differently, other brands seem to be consistent with the +1 from UK to US. Unfortunately I don't stay near a skate shop to try them on for size before buying. Had my eye on some 440s as chillers, TTS I assume?

Dark grey upper with a black sole looks so good, especially on the 480 and 440 lows. Hopefully they make that colorway in the highs too.

Oh cool I thought elements looked a little 440-ish except for the lace hole panel
