Slap forbid people get excited about a top tier skate product that's worth the money that checks the boxes in an era of disposable trash skate shoes.

5 skate homies all wearing them and each sees no reason to skate anything else (ages 25-45ish)...well except maybe one dude who has a 'oh I skated them 5 times, they're blown out' mental issue..he likes FRESH out of the box shoes. Weird.

With the fit debate always going strong in this thread, I’ve been an 808 user in size 10.5 now for a bit. I grabbed a 1010 in size 10 and should have gone with a 10.5 in them as well which is a mind melt. As I thought the 808 fit super small but in my experience I debunked that myth as least for me personally.

I’m curious is the rule of thumb applied the same with your skate shoes as a runner or lifestyle shoe? Do you prefer a little room from your toe to the end of the shoe or snug right up against the end?

I like my longest toe to be just behind the toe cap's stitches for all sneakers. On average that's a 10.5; 808 and 1010 in any size never worked for me, either too short or too long (like the 272) or too tight, but the 933/255/417mids all fit me like I want them too.

Stoked that finally I got my 933 but bummed since it seems that I hit the defective jackpot :(
Anybody else had something like this in their pair?
You can even see some kind of glue fix in there.
[close]
Snagged a pair out of our office promo to sort you out on these Moon.  Ben sent me your address.  Just luck of the draw as we produced thousands of pairs of these, every once in a while you get a weird glue issue.
[close]
I’ve picked up every colorway of 933 so far. Just got grey days in from a shop and the QC control monster finally got me too. I figured I’d share

Not exactly sure what’s happening here but seems like the foam didn’t fully pour or something. Gonna skate them anyway. Were they falling apart for you moonordie?
[close]

Thats just how they come. I wouldn't say thats a QC issue. Its literally like that in the official product pics:
https://www.newbalance.com/pd/nb-numeric-andrew-reynolds-933/NM933V1-49522.html?dwvar_NM933V1-49522_style=NM933GDY#dwvar_NM933V1-49522_style=NM933BST&dwvar_NM933V1-49522_width=D&pid=NM933V1-49522&quantity=1

I got 2 pairs of size 13 wides in brown (sold one)... and they both had this. Its fine, won't fall apart or anything.
[close]
Mine does that on one shoe. The other is flush. So it’s a minor flaw, but not really a big deal. I’ve yet to see a perfect pair of shoes from any brand lol. They all have issues if you examine them closely.

FUCKING HELL !!!
Imagine being that fragile ! 🤮

Is it just me or has the 933 yet to be available on the EU or UK New Balance website? They had the countdown but it’s now disappeared and the page links from google don’t work?

I've been keeping an eye on the European New Balance website, looking to order the grey days 933 as soon as it drops. It started out with a counter releasing in the 22nd, then it was pushed to the 26th. And now the grey version has gone missing from the European websites all together. Anyone with an inside scoop, maybe one of you awesome NB peeps knows?
[close]
Check with skateshops, not NB websites. Arrow and beast will have the grey ones but there is no specification when in their site.

Cheers, I did check with my local and unfortunately they couldn't say exactly when they're releasing, nor size availability. So thought I'd also order through the Danish NB website (as I do when my local doesn't have the model), to increase my chances. But they greys are still missing from EU sites it seems. Despite having the big Reynolds grey days splash image with the May 26th release date on the skateboarding section, which when clicked just takes one to the black/olive version with a release date on May 22nd ???

According to their Instagram it's a glitch and they should be up again on the 26th (see comment section):

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJ1nggRxIU9/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Anywho, I ended up getting the grey days at my local yesterday. They look sick and fit TTS for me. Sizing feels similar to the 440V2. Good luck to all.

Beach Chicken is slang for pigeon, the Anti Hero logo, and a term used in some of the OG marketing banter. I got it from Frank Gerwer, who you may or may not know is a pro skateboarder that rides for the brand and works for this company called DLX.

I'm 38. I don't skate and lie about my glorified longboarding on the internet while giving product reviews.

And now, back to my rug.

Shameless plug but our store (Canadian) just restocked on the brown 933s in sizes 7 all the way up to 14, including the rare 12.5. Also have the 2E width in 8.5 to 13.

Some sizes left also of Black/Olive and the Grey Days.

I hope you enjoy the spam.

Oh this is disappointing and deceptive. This explains why my “wide” 440 V2s hurt like hell when I wear them.

Is there any plans for REAL wide shoes? I need that in order to actually wear cupsoles.

I like about half a thumbs width and when in doubt I can make a slight bit bigger work better than smaller. When it’s snug or right up against my toes, then I just end up smashing them into the end of the shoe. But if I get egregious and have like a whole thumb width of space, the flick feels way off.

Tried on OG Accels like 5 years ago. Nice and wide. The new modern Accel that just dropped, or whatever they’re calling it, should be decently wide. I have wide feet, and I had like 7-8 pairs of those when I was younger and éS was a Top 5, maybe Top 3 shoe company. I imagine they’re the same.

I do find it somewhat hilarious that an originally anti-establishment activity like skateboarding has got to the point where we are having panel discussions about shoes
