Thinking about getting a 8.5 krooked board. Iv never had one before anyone know what they are like?
Iv had an anti hero before and loved it are they a simular shape?
[close]

DLX has at least 4 different 8.5 shapes. Hard to say anything with the lack of details but DLX decks are great anyway.
[close]

Is it true that krooked boards have a short tail/nose?
[close]

Some Krooked boards are the DLX 8.5 full shape which has a long nose and tail.  Just depends on the shape.
[close]

The 8.5" full has a 6.625" tail, so not very long at all. In general I'd say that DLX decks don't have long tails. Maybe generally around average or a little shorter.
[close]

Good to know thanks for the help
[close]

My current deck is the Manderson Krooked shape.

8.38 Width
32 Length
7 Nose
6.75 Tail
.438 concave

Once of my favorite decks. Too bad they don't have that shape in the fall catalog.
[close]

Do you know what the wheel base is?

My bad I meant to include that. 14.25

Last night I won some money at the casino so I just bought the new ave pros in black. I’m out of pocket about 30$ for them.

After riding F4s for years and flatspotting a pair at the skatepark today (first time that ever happened with them), I decided to try STFs again and bought some 52s. I somehow look forward to the fast, slippery skating.

Considering some wino slip-ons. They seem like the only ones that have a suede area for heelflip stuff.

Just got an email about the Baekkel Wino slips and they're all leather. They look pretty cool but seemed kinda spendy for what they are.

Yeah I saw those, they look cool but I agree, I'd rather just get some plain black suede ones. I think they'd look better skated afterwards anyways.

Should have just bombed a rough hill or two and smoothed out the flatty. God I hate those plasticky feeling STFs.

I’m thinking of buying some Polar slacks - surf pants and big boy jeans - but am a bit confused by the sizing.

I’ll have to order them online and won’t be able to try them on as my nearest skate shop is a five hour drive away.

I’m a size 34 waist. Would the mediums be the right choice? Or large?

I know they have the sizing diagrams on their website but I’m an idiot and I don’t wanna fuck up this purchase.

I had the white Provost ones and they’re probably the worst shoe I’ve ever skated.

The elastic band completely gave out in less than a week making them feel flimsy and unstable. I was bummed but figured I could at least chill in them at my office job or something. Apparently that was too much to expect because it didn’t take long for the inside lining to literally start crumbling and coming apart from the inside. All from just walking around.

I’m roughly six foot. Don’t know the length of my legs, but all my pants are 34 waist and 32 leg (which I usually cuff slightly).

I want a baggy fit.

I saw Spencer Hamilton's pro Supra shoe, the Elevate, in person recently. White with gum sole. I have to say, it's a good-looking shoe. Might buy it in the future.

There were some Titanium Thunder 147s for $20 a set and I almost picked up a pair even if I don't skate that size.
I am tempted to get these, if it's meant to be next pay check

Those do look good. Supra’s have done nice models. I’m curious about comfort and how they hold up. If you get them update us on them

Hmmm. Maybe mine were a defect then. Either way it’s probably too late for me to inquire about them. Still, even at their best I feel like they can’t compete with Slip On Pros in terms of slip ons.

I'd get the pros if the waffle grip didn't shit the bed for me. Maybe it's improved but every pair of vans I skated always got holes on the bottom before I even got a kickflip mark. Originally I was just interested in the winos since I've had good luck with emericas and they seem like the only slip-ons that doesn't have a canvas collar to blow out on heelflip stuff. Appreciate the info on the shoes btw.

Yeah the mediums will be good! I just got a pair of the big boys in medium and 93 in 32 and I usually wear a 34 in dickies 874 and I’m 6’2”. For the surf pants I’d go large, I got a medium and wished I’d gotten a large.

Sounds like you should get large surf pants, and big boys in medium will suffice as they're really baggy. If you want a marginally more conservative fit but still real baggy, then the 93 jeans are really good.

Thanks my dudes. I’ll think I’ll do just that. Looks like I’m going to get the red big boys because that colour is on clearance. My fiancé is going to be so bummed!

58 mm Spitfire 99A Formula Four Conical Fulls.
Was skating around a curb spot with my cruiser yesterday with 60 mm 78A Ricta Clouds and it was surprisingly doable. I dunno why I skate 54 mm wheels usually. Maybe stepping it up to 58 mm would be better. Wider and bigger would certainly be better for the rough ass spots we have here. 🤔

A Creature 8.6 shape with a 14.626" wheelbase and a 6.373" tail.
I like boards from 8.375" up with wheelbases from 14.5" up. My cruiser has a tiny 6.25" tail and for some reason i really like how it pops with the 60 mm wheels and 1/8" risers on Ace 55s. Thinking I might like a similar feel on my regular board. 🤔

Jessup Ultra Grip
Mob wears down too fast and I don't like it for many other reasons too but I like that it's grittier. Normal Jessup is fine but having grippier grip makes casual skating easier I think. I also have way too many shoes so I'm not worried about the wearing out faster. 🤔

I had the same pair and i thought they were alright but i had a friend tell me before i brought a pair that if you get a pair of any winos try it in a lower size because they stretch out alot which they did so i was kinda lucky he told me that before i brought them
