Almost bought some Ave Pros for around $60, very interesting cupsole with the waffle grip but super narrow towards the toe box. Even at 1/2 a size bigger than my usual (9.5) the instep area felt very tight even with the laces loosened.

I got some when they were AU$50 stupid clearance prices from vans.com.au but that is a hard NO for me as I need to mess with shoes a lot, but overall I am sure these things skate well for people with normal feet, not my super messed up ones.

Definitely more for the tech cup sole types rather than the thin vulc shoe lovers.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Damn, Ace bringing innovations to the skate tool game and I'm definitely down for this.

Love that it's set to Miles Davis Freddie Freeloader, I'll take your entire stock!

Surprised how snug they were around my instep even at 1/2 a size up, but I was wearing them with athletic insoles for my collapsed arch would added substantial mass to the base of the shoe. Would like to see more shoes blend the benefits of cupsole and vulc, even though the science probably says no.

Is polar’s 8.75 popsicle shape actually 14.375 WB or is that wrong. I know some have said on here that polar tends to be weird with the specs.

The two I have are both that, one even listed in other places as 14.5 but it is as stated 14.375 but they are both considered old stock now.

On looking round everything seems to have wheelbases with 14.375 too

Also on the Polar site too:

I'm tempted of trying some wheels that's not conical. I've been on conical fulls for more than 1 year, maybe I'll try some F4 classics but V1 STF 99 sounds interesting too

The funny thing is that was the last place I looked and had put up links to other shops first, mainly because the Polar site had not had boards up for a while, maybe because they were being nice to shops, eg get the stock into the shops and people can buy from their local shop first, then only after a while, they put up all the remaining stock from that season on their own online store to move the rest of it, or something like that.

Any which way, that wheelbase is a fair all rounder, and good boards to skate.

Sold out so quickly the first round, but I see these are pre order, which is a good way to work out how many he will need.

Looks interesting, but I wonder are they .38 apart or so?  Yes.  *EDIT - also have the .25 size now as well.

The Indy six hole baseplates give a .38" difference and it looks about that far apart, so that would be about the smallest (position 1), then (2) .76 then (3) 1.14 and (4) 1.52" difference.

More just curious than anything, but I can definitely see how useful it is for people who always redrill their boards for whatever reason.

DLX boards wheelbases are too long for me. Trying to cop an ishod twin tail and tactics has the wheelbase at 14.5.... still considering it but I think it’s too long

That is the 8.5 width twin with the 14.5 wb, the 8.3 is 14.4 and the 8.25 is 14.3 which I have heard others say is still too long, but I guess that is the way Ishod likes it.

One of the guys I know redrilled the tail in a bit to make a more even board, a bit more twin nose length, but it still had asymmetrical kicks, the angle, the concave, etc.

Maybe I got it wrong... tactics has the 8” listed as 14.5 wheelbase

The Real twin - 8.0 x 31.5 with 14.3 wb and 6.55 kicks, but I didn't see any twins there on Tactics.

I think my next deck buy will be a slick of some sort. Tried rails. Hate them. I skate at 1 MPH so any help with sliding is cool with me.

thinking about getting a deck from the new quasi drop tomorrow. I really like my Quasi 8.5 which has a lot of life left in it but I think an 8.38 might be better for me to get a better flick/higher ollies. With Venture 5.8s, I think the 8.38 might be a really nice ride. Anyone know the shape differences between 8.38/8.5 and have a preference they'd like to share?

Krooked and Real both have 8.3" width twin tail slicks that are really good. You could also wax your board.

Ok

8.38 is the same as 8.5. If not worse.

And what I mean by that is lots of boards that are 8.38 seem to have longer lengths (overall/and wb) which makes them ride much bigger, to me. This is mainly bbs stuff that I’ve noticed this with. Quasi is ps so maybe it’s different.
I’m full of shit, and definitely notice the difference between an 8, and an 8.125, and favor the larger of the sizes, but I think that has to do with truck leverage.

Thinkin about trying some 58 classics. My wheel journey so far has been maximizing contact patch, but I wanna see what a big, skinny wheel is like.

I was riding, along with a couple other people i know, the 5.8s on a 8.25 for a while and that is a very pleasant ride. Nuts are flush with the deck, maybe poking out the tiniest bit depending on the deck, which makes me hope that the 8.38 is nice middle ground between having a bit of a wider deck and having the deck and trucks be closer to the same width. I am thinking i'm gonna send it so I'd be happy to report back.

I am thinking i'm gonna send it so I'd be happy to report back.

thanks y'all, i'm an easy sell so they are on the way lol
