BBS can have so much variation in kick steepness I wouldn't wanna be stuck with 5 decks that are really steep. The main reason I buy in person is to be able to see what I buy.

That Nike SB Dancer Collab. Got them 20% and I returned a shoe I bought and didn't need it to make it a little better.

Thunder 149 & Adidas Busenitz.

I definitely don't need any more trucks, but I have an irrational draw to Thunder 149s lately.

Been in NB# 508s for two years, but realizing the Busenitz seems pretty similar... After this pair of 508s I think I will try em.

As I approach 30, I’ve decided that I want to get some consistency back in my flatground game. I’ve been riding Thunder 148s for the last few years and my recent set is axled and could be retired at any time. I was considering trying a set of either 8” Ventures or Lurpivs for the shorter axles and apparently those both wheelbite less (?). I could always just start a board quiver to keep with my faithful 148s for my ledge game and that way I don’t have to compromise - side tangent but I am also interested in the new Thunder Inverted Kingpins as someone who loves feeble grinds on curbs and ledges.. I think that I have a fear of wheelbite/bad awkward landings which affects my willingness to commit to flip tricks. The obvious solution would be to skate more but you guys know how it is with work, gf, friends, family other hobbies and a house that feels like something always needs fixing..Open to other truck suggestions as well but my early YouTubing tells me that Venture and Lurpiv offer something solid
[close]

Try IKP Royals, seriously (skip lurpivs...weak grind clearance)

Also, royal axles are just a few mm shorter than other brands, hanger width is the same tho; so you don't get a lot of overhang say, riding 149s on an 8.25...it's only a  couple of threads bit I notice it, especially on 159s and 8.5s.

Cheers! I didn’t find the Ben Degros review super informative but I’ll give ‘em a shot, if even just to try something different

Cons fast breaks or NB 440v2.

Been on about a year long hiatus and my 4 year old wanted to go to a skatepark a week or so ago and just doing a low pop kickflip made me remember what I’ve been missing. I got pulled back in.

currently talking myself out of buying a 10” popsicle
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

The Horse Pill is on my BF shopping list, along with some Half Cabs and the Necroshmoo water bottle from Krooked.

I’ve been trying to talk myself out of buying the AH Dunks for the past hour. At this point, I’m hoping my size sells out because I keep going back and forth between adding and removing them from the cart.

Debating getting some Telfords since they're half price now that Lakai is done. Only thing I'm worried about is the quality since those shoes specifically seemed to get a pretty mixed reception on here.

Thoughts?

I grabbed the Pharcyde Telfords when our shop first opened and I was pleasantly surprised with how well they skated. Now that you’ve reminded me, I might break them back out.

I had told myself in the past that if all black Janoskis were ever sold again I'd stock up. Thinking I will get 3-4 pairs. Best skate shoe an all black will pass as a shoe to wear to work. I wonder how limited this will be or if I can expect a run of all black Janoskis every few years now that they are black

Oh no, this is exactly what I mean by mixed responses haha. If it helps my main concern is durability. I have a pretty aggressive flick so I blow out the toecap of shoes quick if they're cheap, would the telfords hold up reasonably well or not really?

A new deck. Just too lazy to go to the shop and hardly have time to skate anyways. Being a grown-up sucks sometimes.

I liked the look but they fit narrow compared to Dunks. Too painful to skate despite trying to break them in as chillers for weeks. I passed my pair to a homie whose loving them.

dear pals!

since it's sale time i wanna support my semi local shop!

usually on the polar 8.125 boards- 14.25 WB and 32 Lenght

how is the difference between the 8.125 polar and a same size magenta?

the magenta are a lil shorter from what i could find out but maybe somebody has any input?

Thanks in advance

I think there are two shapes in Magenta boards, at least there are in some of the bigger sizes I have a number of, so either that or shops are good at listing one size 8.125 x 32 with 14.25 wb and another one 8.125 x 31.8 or so with 14.125 wb.

It could quite possibly be that they are just the same shape with different measurements taken, but overall it is roughly the same from any number of shops I checked measurements from, most of which I always re check when I can, but that seems to be what comes up.

Magenta is the same BBS wood, good shapes and concave very similar to Polar, so I think you would be in good hands there, but at least if it is in your local, can you go in and check measurements before you buy it?

That would be my thoughts there.

Example:

https://www.tactics.com/magenta/gore-dojo-8125-skateboard-deck

Width (in):   8.125
Length (in):   31.875
Wheelbase (in):   14.125
Nose Length (in):   6.875
Tail Length (in):   6.625

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

AF1 base plates.  The ones that came  with my ace chews through pivot cups because the bore is wonky. I am perfectly content on Indy’s. But I have the urge to change. Why? Madness.

Anyone know where I can find 2 af1 low plates?  Mesa website only has 1 I can order. Or will AF1s fit in classic baseplates ?

It’s been years. I got them when they first came out they sent more pivot cups and  when they chewed through those I started using other trucks. Just put Indy’s back on and I got the itch where skating on Indy’s is fun so ace will be funner.
