Fellow users of rails. My rail popped off halfway.
Should I use a drill next time or stick to a screwdriver. Never had one pop off. Not sure if it’s because of the board shape.
A big no from me to using a drill, but put some double sided tape on the rail first. It keeps vibration down and it stays in place as you install the screws. Win win..just check the screws after each session, and tighten if needed.

Thank you.
May throw on some Enjoi rails with flints. Didn’t want to but they already come with the tape. Wanted to keep it “true-to-Lance” but if you’re not having fun skating, you’re doing it wrong.

Seems like most people over drill wood screws, causing them to fall out instantly.
I only tear out woodscrews in my rails if I hit a nasty seam/crack.
It's a technique. I've done it a bunch so kind of learned the right amount of pressure.

Here's the Lance board. Haven't been so stoked in a minute.

Lance Reissue (duh!)
Mob (I tried cutting around the dragon and it's a bad cut)
Stock Indy 169s (thank god they're the 6 hole kind)
Bones Super Reds
Spitfire Classics 56mm
Shortys 1"
Pig rail (may add a second)
[close]

My big brother had that board the first time round..  like what 86/87??

(If GISM see's this) I rember he got it from Chatswood cycles..

Looks sick top photo really is classic.
Would be a trip to skate looking down at that dragon after all these years

Every skater in Sydney for a few years bought from Chatswood Cycles or Skateboard World.

I got my Bonite Cab long dragon there with Indy 169s and slime balls. You’d just rock up on a shipment day and hope for the best

It’s wild.
The lack of nose makes it feel like it curves down instead of up like on a modern board.

Maybe we should post some big board clips in here, like the stuff we skate with our setups...

Haven’t stepped on a board in months cause of a few things. I need something to get me going again

Any takers

Here is a big board clip that should have the Dane 1s flying off the shelf:

Smoked my breakfast and ordered myself a double vision for being a good boy and working two jobs last week. I had this deck as a kid.. :o

Does anyone of you ride decks with longer wheelbase? Recently I've seen some wider pool decks with wb around 15.5"< and I'm wondering if longer wb are still functional.
Any advice?

Stoked to see that Vision board once it’s put together!

I’m 5’7” I rode a Lance board with a 15” WB and it sucked. The problem with longer WB is you won’t really have a feel until you’re on it with trucks. It can be a cruiser or slappies if it doesn’t work for you.

From my personal experience.
It’s sucked to do anything on it. I’d try to Ollie but barely left the ground and ended up getting tired faster.

15 plus is sick for bigger transitions or higher speeds.  Not really good if you’re looking to flip it over but if you wanna rail the fuck out of a carve grind it’s pretty good in my opinion.

Lately I’ve been skating 10”+ decks with a 15.5-16in wheelbase and I’ve really enjoyed the extra stability. I’m 6’3 with pretty long legs and I find the longer wheelbase and wider trucks feel more stable in transition.

9" normal popsicle shape (Polar, presently, was Doomsayers before that) w/ Ace 55s really appears to be my sweet spot.

17.25 approximately. probably feels really good for a big setup
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

This Polar is a 14.5". Even though I am, at my advanced age, skating more tranny now, I dont really want to stretch that out any longer.
ok thanks

I just picked this up, beautiful shape. Thought it was going to be for the wall, but the silkscreening is a bit off, so I’ll ride it.

I am also a driller. My technique is to not use the drill like I'm drilling. Slower speed, solid downward pressure. Know when to stop before you over do it. You can always stop and check to see if you are deep enough and screwing more will only do harm. You can feel it when you do it enough times.

@Nth syd bear hey mate, long time no speak, was meaning to get back you about this one but shit has been busy.
I think Chatswood was kinda out of bounds for me until I graduated from primary school, my parents thought it was a dangerous place. #northernbeacheslogic
so I don't actually know that shop, but I think we had the equivalent in DY, either way it was a bike store that sold boards. I can still remember the smell when I used to walk in there. All of those 80s boards must have used some crazy arse paint!!

I think my first 2 proper boards (Tony Hawk eagle in pink and valley SMA/ world industries) were both from SDS (at warringah mall). Say what you want about SDS but even till deep into the 90s, they always stocked a lot of good brands.

That dragon on the top was so iconic back in the day though, so I see why'd you want to cut it out!

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year
