I figure this place would be the right place to ask. Has any of you tried ace33's on a 8.75-9'' deck? I'm contemplating on some polar deck with wheels and like 51mm wheels to get a real good magic carpet ride feel.

Santa Cruz Dressen 9’
Indy 159 Ti
F4 Conical full 55mm
Reds
Mob
Pig rails

My first Santa Cruz since the early 90’s and I like it so far. Wood feels a little different than what I’m used to but so far so good. I’ve been on a rails kick lately too which are a lot more enjoyable than I expected. The local only had this color, but somehow the Cheetah print works with the Rose graphic to give the board a biker step mom kind of feel.

Anyway, they slide fast. Pigs seem to slide a lot better than the Bones rails I tried. Harder plastic I think.

I don't like trucks wider than 8'' it messes up my grinds. Also I think it could look cool and more room to land is good too.

I was going to say earlier that it feels more like a "T" as in big wide top down to very narrow bottom, so the board tends to tip over more easily.  Quite a few kids often sized up decks without getting anything else, so they were all riding the narrow trucks from their stock Christmas completes, only now on wider decks, almost like it was a competition to have the widest board.  It is not uncommon for 8.5 on those 8.0 trucks, which is about as wide as I would recommend, but bigger boards are less maneuverable too.

Even some pros (Ishod) ride more narrow trucks to avoid having the wider truck feel and slip out from rails and the like, but I don't think any ride it to that extreme, eg 8.0 inch trucks on 8.3 deck.

Try it and see.  Good luck!!!

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Keep in mind that if you have 8" trucks on an 8.75"/9" deck with wheel wells, the bite marks might not even be where the wells are.

It would probably be fine. They taper to ~8.75" over the front truck so it depends on how you feel about that. I've skated the shape with 149s, 159s, and Ace 55s.

ah, i have 159's but they are hollow, seems blasphemous for an egg. ill try to get a buddy to trade, so many eggs are best on 159's.

Doesn't seem blasphemous to me. I used to have a thing about no big, conical wheels on an egg but after trying it I changed my tune real quick.

I run 55s on all my eggs, with 54mm conical fulls.

No blasphemy, just fun.

Eggs are the fucking best.
Well I have like 9 Andy Anderson dated flight decks.

Liking this a lot initially. I’m starting to like dipped boards, they have a damp feel and quiet sound. I hated them growing up, I thought companies dipped boards to hide crappy wood. I didn’t know.

Heroin 9.25 popsicle

Damn, both of those are sick.

yeah I've been searching for the Pedistal board for a while but here in Europe Krooked in weird shapes aren't that easy to find, I'd love to get the Ray Barbee model.

Picked up some Ace 55’s on sale.

I need a rad big boy deck to pair with the trucks.

I don’t want a 15 inch wb.

Any recommendations?

What are everyones go-to decks for Ace 55’s?

If you can find one, Heroin Curb crusher XL is pretty great with those!

Liking this pairing, polar popsicle 9” with 14.5” wb. Don’t think I cross posted this yet from set up thread. 55mm OG classics (classic formula)

Almost the Ville Wester setup, just slightly smaller wheels. How does this setup feel? Is the popfeel light enough for street skating or is this a more curb/tranny aimed setup?

yeah exactly, bump this. Never tried 60mm wheels but I’m curious how it would effect there pop angle. Been pretty great so far, only a couple of curb sessions. No real transition skating in my future w winter here.

Ace 55 look like 1/8” risers
Spit classic 60mm
Polar
9.0" X 32.25"

Thanks for the suggestions.
I’ll keep an eye out for a Curb Crusher.

Looks like there was a 9 inch crusher at some point.

In the meantime maybe I’ll grab that next Polar 9 inch popsicle or a 1992 shape.

I’m tempted to try the 60mm wheels. I’m on some 54mm now.

Anyone try either of the Krooked Barbee shapes? I’m kinda tempted on the 10” flames one, but would prob rather have the other one
