Since some of you like shorter wheelbase:
I've drilled a second pair of holes in my baseplates so I can shorten the wheelbase by approx. 0.4" per truck.
Opened up a lot more options on decks.

I know a lot of people had used the front bolt holes and just drilled out the deck as only two holes were needed, but this takes it to another level.

Pretty cool though!!!
I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

pulled the trigger on a mutant and some 215's, I can't remember the last time I was this excited to set a board up haha. I also want to try that DMODW 9.25 Popsicle before they sell out, I've skated the orange eagle and a couple santa cruz/creature 9" popsicles with the long wheelbases and liked them a lot so I imagine the DMODW board will be even better.

@Sundaynuggets Zogger sounds fun! I’m honestly a little afraid it’ll be too much of a cruiser, but it’s worth a shot next year if it comes back. The 9.25 Popsicle on 66s with small wheels is definitely less board than the 10” egg on 215s/169s with big wheels. I will swap around stuff over the holidays and test this theory too.

For sure, Zogger is awesome! It takes a minute to get used to but it’s actually not too bad for basic street stuff. Great cruiser too

This one is interesting - anyone on here?

I also noticed the wheelbase had been drilled down, which would probably suit more of you guys too - see pics.

I feel like someone shared a screen grab of Koston’s board and he had done this to some ventures

I always wondered why truck companies don't do this by default.

Today I had a few minutes to try the PP Slidewinder. Still pretty skateable for a board of this size. I could still do my ollies, 180s and stuff(no flips). Just needs a little more effort.  Everything feels a bit more stable and slowed down. Solid feeling when going fast. I like it.

Short version: it's not the board I needed but it's a board I wanted ;D

Got this deck in the classifieds section from @Gumonmygrip. Took it for a test-ride yesterday feels pretty dope, I do not usually skate this style of board.

Scram 9.5"
I don't know where my tape measure is at the moment so I can't tell ya the wb...
Ace 66
1/8" risers
Sml 53's (first order of business it to find different wheels for these, recommendations welcome)
bearings and hw all salvaged

I probably will have to fine tune this guy to figure out whats best. Going to be used mostly for slappys, days where I don't have the energy for ledges or manuals, and toying around on transition.

I thought it was more of a wb modification....Koston is a little rare in that he’s cycled thru the big three trucks (most dudes seem to pick and stick with something)

yeah, sorry wasn't more clear.

i was just pointing out, it was a huge plus to get at the bolts easily for once on ventures and they wouldn't get mangled from slides.

Figured I had to post in here since this thread is how I stumbled on this forum. Here is one of my new setups I put together. Its a fun board but a bit heavier than some of the big production boards. Lots of fun to ride.

Life 9" pop (32.75" L and 14.75"WB)
169 Indy
Bones Hard Bushings
Lil Jawn rails
Spitfire FF Radials, 54mm, 99D
Indy Blacks
Jessup

Never thought I would see a life board on here! So sick!!!! Sam the guy who makes him is a true craftsman. My best friend rides for life, and although the boards are bit heavier (due to the thicker ply, different epoxy) you get used to it, and they truly are great. Sweet ride homie

I drilled the front trucks 1/2" back on the tactics deck to give me more nose and a better wheelbase for my height.

Don't drink and operate powertools. I messed up one of the holes. Oops.

How's it going with the Tactics shaped board?

So far I am digging this board a ton. I think the 169's fit it perfect. I might throw on my 159's for a session just to see how I like it. Im just getting back into skating so tinkering with set ups has been just as fun as riding.

The craftsmanship that went into this board is definitely apparent! The comment I made about its weight was no complaint that's for sure. I actually like how sturdy it feels under my feet. The concave and kick is PERFECT.

in the market for a new board and split plies/ 8 holes up front is pulling my nostalgia strings.
It's either that, a love seat or an 8.8 evisen but that would get me kicked out of this thread :(

What's the longest wheelbase on that double drilled beauty? Is it 13.875 and 14.25, or 14.25 and longer?

no i havent. i would if they make the shape regularly.

been sticking to decks i know i can snag each drop without fail instead of one-offs

I see, maybe why it’s a good idea to stick to love seat/ couch shapes from crail then.
I like to mix it up though, that’s my problem ...

I am totally DLX biased, but the Drehobl board is definitely a winner.  It is still fairly wide over the back trucks but it does taper down considerably, similar to the Gonz as well, but as you said, with dual wheelbase, it makes it easier for you if you like shorter options.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Classic Drehobl on Drehobl's classic shape.

9.25" x 31.8"
14.25 - 14.75" Wheelbase

Not sure how regularly they come out, but there seems to be one every other drop in the same size, shape, dual wheelbase, just different graphics.

Older versions of the same shape:
