There would be nothing wrong with someone voicing their opinion of not liking someone's skating or being annoyed that someone else did the same trick as them and released it before them. I'm aware there are some great and honest interviews etc but mostly, they are stale, bland and lack what feels like real personality.

I know what you're talking about but the people that fit into that mold are only popular because the industry and consumers make them popular. Also consider crews like Shep Dawgs are a crew because they have similar sensibilities with each other. That group got big and so they come off as representative of the area as a whole rather than a segment of the population whether or not it's fair. Nobody on Skate Mafia is like that. Nobody I see skate on a regular basis is like that. I could type a long list of individuals in the industry from San Diego who are around right now who don't adhere to that look or type of skating. Also, that look seems to be some well off white boy North County bullshit. They don't all fit that criteria, but that's probably where it came from.
I'm embarrassed of most skaters in general.

Agreed. Snowboarding may be an easier, less cool alternative to skateboarding for rich kids, but it isn't even in the same kookiness league as parkour. Also, pro snowboarders tend to also be very good at skateboarding (see Jed Anderson and Scott Stevens).

Not a specific person per say, but more something I've noticed people do that is second hand embarrassment inducing / annoying:
When playing skate and someone blatantly lies about what letter they are on; you either call them on it and look like you're a "jock" obsessed with keeping score, or you just keep playing and enjoy the game anyway. It's not so much about that person having an advantage but it makes me cringe when I've noticed someone doing this more than once or twice as it seems VERY desperate (everyone makes mistakes when tallying up what letter they're on in their head).
The guy that looks at you and the rest of your crew when they land a trick just to make sure you've seen what they just did.

So Biebel and a few other people have a warehouse skatepark thats a few blocks away from North Hollywood skatepark.
For the most part you could just go there and skate if the door was open which it pretty much always was.
Then I guess the kid broke his arm, there was some subsequent legal action
Public access to the park has been pretty much over since.

My buddy invited me down to go party with all his frat buddies last fall. I was very reluctant because fuck frat people but he was really insistent so I went. One of the frat houses at his school had a sort of mini ramp in the backyard, these morons nailed two 1 1/2 foot wide Quarters together to make the vague shape of a mini ramp, they called it their "half pipe" it was completely un-skatable. Their reason for having it was that it helped them impress chicks. One of the frat bags asked me if I was drowning in pussy because I skate because his penny board helps him get laid. I just said "yeah dude so much ass" :'( Other than that it was a good night, I fingered a really preppy sorority chick who normally wouldn't ever talk to some one like me, she now follows me on Instagram so I've pretty much gone up like three social ranks.

I'm not from povoa but i've been there for a few times... Povoa scene is not dead at all, kids are getting crazy good, at least compared with the tipical portuguese skater (haha). They usually go to the closest park that is in Maia (30 mins by train) and they dominate that place. Skate scene in Portugal is strange... In the small citys, like mine, we are always suportive and try to help each others, but then in bigger citys i see lots of small groups were people dont talk to each other and lots of times they look at us, strangers, like some kind of posers when they dont know us at all. I dont know. I dont like that vibe at all. I grew up in a city with 2 other skaters. I always was nice to strangers because they dont come that often. Everyone is welcome to skate with me, except if its some person ahaha...
Ponte de Lima park is sketchy as shit. I simply cant skate that... but the scene there is awesome. The local shop "korner skateshop" is super suportive to everyone that go there and they have lots of ripping little kids skating the park! A diferent scene since tranny is not a big thing in Portugal.

The majority of interviews with pro skateboarders are embarrassing to read, they often don't say anything real about what their asked about and they are usually boring ass answers. For instance, it's always "yeah he's sick, I want to see everyone's part, they are both good". Now, I'm not looking for a fucking scandal every time I open an interview but (nearly) every pro seems shit scared of offending anyone if they speak their mind. There would be nothing wrong with someone voicing their opinion of not liking someone's skating or being annoyed that someone else did the same trick as them and released it before them. I'm aware there are some great and honest interviews etc but mostly, they are stale, bland and lack what feels like real personality.
People who don't read books and don't go to museums.
