Baker 4 coming in August

Edit: shouldn’t posted similar sentiments right above while I was typing this, but I’ll leave my thoughts here anyways.


Watching this, I too was hoping for classic Baker 3 vibes. But about halfway through I realized I can’t expect to see Stevie Williams give a major shoutout to Dustin Dollin, I can’t expect a six minute epic Reynolds part, a career defining, breakout Antwuan part, or the same type of hijinx that magically occurred in earlier Baker videos. Fifteen years later, the team has grown and the new guys weren’t there before. Baker 3 will exist forever, maybe people forget those amazing moments still happened and aren’t any less real. The old videos are always there for us to enjoy.

Baker 4 didn’t NEED to come out, but it did, and I’m glad. Everything can get criticism and that’s fine but sadly we can’t expect the same vibe to be repeated in 2019. The new vibe is still good, minus a few criticisms we all have, myself included.

TLDR; it’s not just like an old baker video but that’s okay because the other videos will always be there. Theotis’ part for sure could have been cut though!

Honestly, this is the best Baker video I've seen in a very long time. Great skating (aside from Zach Allen and Riley), some very heartfelt moments from the OGs and their footage.

Also, why's everyone trying to discredit Kader's ender? Have any of you ever nollie backside flipped anything?? That trick is ridiculously difficult to flick properly, let alone control down a decent sized gap or set.
Herman's part damn near brought me to tears. Half because of the skating. Other half because I know this is the last time we'll ever see him "trying."

This Spanky part has warmed my heart. I don't know why I was expecting only less than exciting bank and bank to ledge tricks but god damn was I wrong. Two songs full of great lines and a lot of unique spots. Tons of creativity and a lot of surprisingly gnarly stuff too, e.g. early grab wall bash off a roof and front tail kickflip on that Louie Lopez ender spot from Purple. He's looking good on his board and still has his classic style. Herman really exceeded my expectations as well. Love seeing these guys shine years later.

The Sw bs flip and the crook ender in Band and destroy were better than anything in this part. Theyre both sick af but still fact :/

Lou Reed's street hassle playing when the feather was falling would have made me like this video a lot more. Probably would be my favorite part.

Using that song in between all the parts would have been great. That song playing with the strobeck style filming with one second hijinks clips mixed in between parts would have been amazing. Oh well, free video, can't complain.

This video was almost perfect.  Everyone saying it didn't feel like a baker video must not realize that its 2019 and a lot of the "hijinx" from the baker of 15 years ago wouldn't fly, and for good reason.  Plus do you still really want to watch a bunch of teenagers scream and throw water on each other in hotel rooms or scream at their skateboards over and over?  I loved baker 3 just like everyone else but after watching this I rewatched baker 2g, summer tour 2001, and 3. Honestly some of the "hijinx" are just embarrassing, but it was a different time.  I still found it all fun to watch but out of nostalgia.

Skateboarding is pretty boring now, everyone can 5-0 a triple kink and slide switch back tails 40 ft.  This video (and blessed) is showing more of a feel than the most insane hammers and I'm here for it.  I get that people don't want to watch someone push and peoples faces for 45 minutes straight but the format for videos has to progress or shit gets stale. Make me feel something that isn't just "wow he backsmith front shuv'd a hubba."

Baker and the OG's have  all matured just like you are supposed to as you age and this video managed to nail the "mature baker vibe" on the head.

Very much enjoyed it. 31 years old.

Oh and that nollie bs flip down the nine was fucking sick.  That's what I want to see, something that actually looks good.

The only downside for me is how uncomfortable Beagle's skating looks.  I want to enjoy it but can't.

Baker 4 is pretty much exactly what I wanted from the Baker OGs. I'm sure some of the people bitching about the shit that differed from Baker 3 had a lot of stupid shit to say about that video, too. In this current age of instagram clips and online "parts" it's really amazing to see someone still put out a classic, quality full-length especially without having to resort to some shitty music to keep costs down.

It's also great to see that this genuine crew has grown up and matured from the Piss Drunx era/image.

It's like a long, running tv series with some of my favorite characters making an appearance without tarnishing what made it good to begin with. This is my skate video of the year pick.

I could nit pick, but I know that's what I'd be doing and thankfully I'm not about that now.

When Baker 5 rolls out, I can't wait to watch it. For now, dudes should take a victory lap for putting this out, and everyone that got a free download should at the very least throw in a Baker shirt into your black friday shopping cart.

To people saying instant classic help me out. I want to like this video because I love Baker... but the footage is subpar. Compare it to Encore that they only worked on for a year and it’s not even close skating wise

They're more about personality, team fit, and style on a skateboard. Baker has never been about pushing skateboarding technically and cannot be compared to the Primitive team, they're in different worlds. There was some memorable parts in this video, parts i love and will watch over and over. I think it will be a classic, but most definitely not an instant classic. The more I watch it the better i think it is. it met my expectations but did not exceed. Rowan, Spanky, boss, figgy, herm, baca all killed it, Baca and DD were a pleasant surprise, great parts in my opinion. I loved seeing AA, Mike Gilottie, and Ellington. Theo, Tyson, Zach can get bent.
