Had an aggressively mediocre session today, but overall I'm loving the P9 shape

Polar P9
Independent 149Ti
Spitfire F4 Tablet
Bronson G3 (kill me plz)

[close]

But not loving the bearings?

Not really.  They were fine for the first few months and recently started gumming up.  They definitely aren't the worst, but I'm in no rush to get another set (it's all my local had at the time)

New deck, my favourite easily accessible size 8.38 x 32.25 with a 14.5 wheelbase, mandatory brand name removal pre skate. Stage 11 Indy 149s with the aftermarket red low 92 duro Indy bushings, Spitfire Formula Four 99 duro classic full nicely worn down to about 52mm, the usual plain black Jessup griptape, Shortys 7/8 Silverados, etc.

More info (and skate weirdness) in the post, but the main info is above.

I had a look too - we have two at the shop and it's definitely a more custom BBS shape. Deeper concave.

I bought the Baker Reynolds Reaper the same time
and can confirm the steep concave. Glad I upped the size of my wheels and went bigger with this set up.

Krooked Cromer 8.25, 14.38 wb
Thunder 148 hollow lights
Spitfire f4 101 53mm conical

https://www.instagram.com/p/CH6oOeGF4ZK/?igshid=1sq9w6ujpd5h1

Deluxe top to bottom on this one (except bones super reds).  I had sworn off thunders due to wheelbite, but after seeing Ishod and Christian Henry running riser pads on thunders I thought Iíd give it a go. With the 3mm riser pad, I believe this is basically the height of forged indys. So far so good.

Only one session in, but they felt good. I was rolling indys on a 14.38 before I set this one up and there wasnít a drastic adjustment.

It's also got a mellower tail than most bbs decks and a really nice full shape. I put off trying one for ages because I figured it was the same as the deathwish shape (since they're both 8.25 x 31.5 and bakerboys) but then I saw a good high res profile shot of one online and the tail caught my eye. Combined with the fact it's a 31.5" deck with14.25" wb, the birdhouse standard mold might genuinely be my favorite non-dlx BBS shape.

Only other one that's close is the FA 8.25 but even though I like it I usually skate like shit on them because of the steep tail. If I could get a bbs deck with the FA nose, birdhouse tail, and dlx 8.28 concave/dimensions I'd get wetter than a blind lesbian at a fish market.

This is just the motivation I needed to run risers on my Thunder Hollow Lights. What riser are you using? I have some pink Krooked risers at 1/8 laying in the olí toolbox.

1/8 lucky risers. Definitely less wheelbite, but doesnít feel tippy with the added height. Let me know how it works out for you.

Thunders with 1/8 risers is 100% a game changer. I did run them, it definitely made me fall in love with the truck even more. It almost made me like them better than aces.

i tend to rock 53 or 54 with my 44s/149s on risers and i donít get too much wheelbite (at least anything super noticeable). Itís worth mentioning the iím 6í3Ēand 195 and ride my trucks on the looser/surfier side.
