On the website it says it’s a tribute to Uma Thurman’s famous Iditarod phase.
When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.

8.5 FA
159 hanger (originally ace 44 but they got bent axels), ace baseplate with riptide pivotcups, and
Krepper reverse kingpins.
99a 53mm ishod conicals but there are down to about 48 now
Reds
Bronze 56k
[close]

How are the 159 hangers on Ace baseplates? Would you say it kinda makes a 8.75" Ace? I have some 159s for whenever I ride anything bigger than 8.5 but I like my aces too much so I never really go there.
[close]

They feel just like an ace, I tried putting on 144 hangers first but it felt way to high and tippy, 149 hangers might be pretty sweet too.

I have 149 tis and some aces should show up today. If my aces shit the bed. I’m gonna try this so I can bring the wheelbase in from the forged plates

I kind of feel like it is a nod to Logan Earth Ski (even if it Scram is already doing that and Uma is biting it a bit).

That board looks way crazier than I expected from the top. I talked some trash on Uma when they were announced but I am warming up to it.

skateboarding....

general winter spot set up, curbs, slippery indoor halfpipe, crusty outdoor spots. its got a massive nose so maybe some no ollie nose slides (i'm really into this tasteless trick on as high of a ledge i can get onto without ollieing.) not jersey barriers.

Hell Yeah, I'm a square and stick to 8.25/8.5 standard shapes but that looks really fun. I need to get a set of those 97 spitfires for this winter.

Thanks homie!
I haven't slid yet. But will soon, I've been mostly skating on my lunch break in an empty lot. Working long shifts cause of covid but sunday I'm going to skate a ledge. Doesn't feel heavy at all. Paisley skates slicks felt heavier. It feels like that cheap slick skin that ccs sold.

Polar Probability Studies 8.5" P2
1" allen Indy hardware
Indys 149
Spitfire F4 radial 56mm 101
Bones hxc medium white
Bones Redz

The P2 shape is oval-ish which weirded me out at first, and the concave is deeper than I like. But I am used to it. The bushings are probably my favorite part of this set up.

no Indy but use the holes between the bolt hole openings and can kind of make em flush with front or baseplate. Can take a pic.

Started getting some axle slip on my front truck, noticed that today when one of my wheels just stopped spinning, and I was pretty bummed out. Currently on Ace 44 with a 8.375 Quasi, probably gonna set up my spare Indy 159s, which I'm usually riding on bigger shaped boards and stuff, they currently are on some conical fulls 56mm, either gonna keep those or swap my current set of 54mm classics. Probably gonna wait until next summer to get new aces, since it's parking garage season here in canada (and snowboarding season too, which is pretty nice)

Debating just throwing 159s hangers on my ace baseplates, heard good things about that on here at some point, but is it going to get ace height and geometry? Because if so, I remember getting pretty insane wheelbite on 56s with my 44s, and might consider swapping for the 54s which are already a little worn down too...

How is that 8.68 shape? Right now my favorite seems to be 8.62 with a 14.38 WB. Small enough to flip around a little, big enough on transition, kinda feels like "home". And all three major woodshops make that shape!

Element 8.25 (14.18 wb)
Indy Mids 144 with Krux DLK and Indy soft conical bushings
OJ Elite Mini Combos 54mm
Bones bigballs

Also been skating Straye slipons with Footprint insoles, not really my favorite shoe.

Cant really skate anything but flatground at the moment due to the winter and covid situation so trying some smaller setup.

I actually just set it up last night. Hoping to get it out this week and try it. I'm super curious as well. As I've sized up from 8 to 8.38(with a 9" Franky V egg deck in the mix) over the last year, I've noticed I just like bigger boards more. The wider the board gets, the more I feel comfortable on it. Especially, for grinds. I'm hoping this will be that sweet spot for me.

Set up a Zero on Friday and did not like it for some reason. It felt oddly heavy and steeper than it looked :/ I normally like medium steep but something wasn't right, maybe it was the longer WB and steepness on 55mm Indys that threw me off. It was also hard to turn on it for some reason, like it wouldn't want to stay straight or be as responsive when I leaned heel or toe side. A shame because the shape felt and looked nice otherwise... c'est la vie...

Anyways, swapped it out for this Heroin I've had for a little bit. First Heroin so I'm excited! Way better just in the first 15 minutes on a session yesterday!! :D

Zero: 8.5, 32.25"(?), 14.5"

Heroin 'Toxic Eyes' (current): 8.5, 32.25", 14.25(?)
Mob grip
Indy 149 - standard hangar on a hollow kingpin/standard baseplate
SF F4 Conical Full 54mm (loving these compared to STFs for nearly 10 years)

Was the Zero on Dwindle or BBS wood?

If BBS then it should have been about the same as the Heroin, but I know there are always differences and have not seen a Zero in person since the change.  You show Zero 14.5 wheelbase, but Heroin shorter, which could be it too, but I thought they were the same size / wheelbase overall.

A few people I know (self included) parked on the kicks of boards to mellow them out either for a couple of hours or overnight if they really needed it, which worked well.  Just put down a mat / towel or something under the whole deck if already gripped.

Might be a simple alternative to having a deck you are not going to ride.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.
