I agree with not matching stickers to stuff, EXCEPT, for deck companies. I just can’t afford to skate all the decks I want so I’ll run an anti hero sticker on something else, or AWS or frog. Cause I just like those brands a lot. I can’t even stand people wearing adidas shorts or pants with different shoes. Speaking on those sharp edge boards, they do feel cool but definitely chip easier, grateful I never got my shins mangled. Good for just cruising.
Man the long board truck thing killed indy for me. I was willing to set aside the racism, but long boarding, gtfo... - DH

Good for you johnes. On the topic of minilogo, they do have an interesting 8.5 shape, it's 33.5 long with a 15 inch wheel base. I'll try it one day.

I think they might have discontinued that one.  It isn't on their site anymore.

Yup also discontinued, they had 2 -8.5 shapes, 249 and 181 I think and the 181 was the one with the long WB.
There’s just the 1 new 8.5 shape for now.

Has anyone tried these decks from heroin? Sounds intriguing.

My buddy has a small board company but makes mainly pool shapes and all his top sheets are unfinished like that.  They're fun to ride but it makes them chip way easier and ... And it hurts more when you whack yourself.

Indeed. Had an early Grosso shape AH deck that was a razor top (are they still like that?) and it chipped like hell and shinners felt life-ending. I can't remember the reasoning AH used, something pool related I'm sure. Relegated to cruiser-only pretty quickly.

Grosso explains it in his set up video that he just likes the way they skate. I think the squared off shape makes it easier for grabs

That was the video I was thinking of, thanks man. Definitely not for me, but it does look pretty cool on a shaped deck.

Definitely, had some neighbors that ran a Grosso board and it looks tempting for something like curbs and cruising although it has a 15 inch wheelbase

It depends on the sticker. Like I wouldn't put an Element sticker on an Antihero deck (or any other deck for that matter) but I would (and have) put a Scumco sticker on an Antihero deck if it's a Kanfoush or black and gold because of the Pittsburgh connection.

Obviously everyone is free to sticker as they please and show support for anyone they want to, but for me personally there has to be a reason for it beyond just supporting the company or liking the sticker and I can definitely understand why it bothers some people. I have a weird thing too where if I put a bones/spitfire or indy sticker on a deck I feel obligated to only ride those wheels or trucks with it, even if it's to my detriment.

For an activity thats supposedly all about freedom and individuality and creativity skateboarding has so many little rituals and unwritten rules governing what's acceptable lol.

haha yeah im crazy too - like i did a krooked sticker on a antihero board once but usually i only put thunder/spitfire or a shop sticker on my boards..

Kudos for you for skating black wheels, I can't do that.

I don't really care about the color much but these particular ones I bought because they were on sale for I think $15 or $20 in one of the Zumiez clearances and I wanted to try Conical Fulls again. If I'm paying full price I tend to go white but I also have a thing for swirls. Even though it's gimmicky as shit (actually probably precisely because it's gimmicky as shit) I want to get a set of those glow in the dark swirled formula 4's but I'm not sure if they made any 55mm or bigger which is what I prefer. I already have a pair of Thunders with glow in the dark bushings so I want to go all out and get those wheels and the spitfire swirl glow grip. The grip was in the summer catalog and it's finally starting to hit stores now but it's fucking $23 so I'm going to wait a while and see if it's one of those unpopular gimmicks that ends up being on clearance everywhere in a few months.

Settin up my deck atm. Bought Bones hard bushings. Is the consensus to leave the bottom washer off and leave the top one on?

Depends on the truck. The recommended setup is no bottom washer and use the top flat washer included with the bushings instead of the traditional cup shaped one but it might change the geometry up a little. Stack them up next to your stock bushings and see if they're the same height and if they aren't then adjust accordingly.

Really can't go wrong with Bones but the hards can be a little bit difficult to work with at first. If you're used to tight trucks its an easier adjustment but if you ride loose normally they can be pretty unforgiving when landing tricks non-perfectly. The trade-off is the crazy stability always makes me feel more comfortable setting my feet up at high speed.

They're Indy 149 Stage 11s fwiw. Went w/ hard bushings 'cause I'm like 180 lbs

I'm 170-175 - with 149's I would use a bones medium at most, I feel like riding hards in them kind of kills the classic Indy surf/carve feel. With 149s I really like the new Indy stock bushings, but if I want a more stable setup I like the blue Indy GP or Krux. Both are 92a NHS, so they're probably the same formula but the Krux bottom is a little bit taller. I like hards in trucks that are naturally already fairly tight and snappy turning like Tensors and smaller size Thunders. With Indy I just feel like they alter the characteristics of the truck a bit too much for my taste.

Check out the Truck Setup thread if you're into this kind of stuff. There's some guys here (BMCSteve, Xen, Roisto, Firebert and many others) that are super knowledgeable, have tried damn near everything, and can give you great advice and insight on tweaking your trucks to perfection.

I don’t want to start a new topic but I want to know posters’ favorite/most memorable setup. I think mine would be this red blank I got. A Christmas complete. Probably like my second setup when I actually wanted to get into skateboarding. It was a red complete and the shop put a big muska sticker on it to make it look like the muska silhouette lol. I think that’s what I learned kickflips on the day before a trip to Mexico.

Besides that probably this shop deck like 6 years later when I was skating a lot and it just felt really good.
