New deck, shop didn't get Painted AVE so I had to settle for Chrome Daddy Dill.

FA 8.25" x 31.79" Jason Dill Class Photo Chrome with 14.12" WB
Indy 144 Hollows with Bones Medium Bushings
Bones STF 99a Easy Streets
Bones Super Reds
MOB

The paint really doesn't last long but that's normal for FA I guess.
[close]

That graphic is sick.

What wood is FA?
I've only had one, which was over a year ago now, but it maintained crisp pop longer than any other board I've had.
[close]

It used to be PSstix, but they currently use BBS. If you like PS better, check out the Quasi Proto One (8.25") or Two (8.5"). They're the same exact shape.
[close]

Do FAs taper like the Quasi Proto?  Those have 8” tails.  All Quasi 8.25 x 32.125s have that same shape but their 8.25 x 32.375s are more rounded (which I personally prefer).  I’ve found the Quasi 8.125s to be the most FA like. Super squared and short (31.75 and 14.125 WB).

I believe so, but I don't have a Quasi to compare. For me the most important aspect of this shape is the nose, which is 1/2" bigger than the tail and much steeper, compared to regular popsicles where the nose is 1/4" bigger than the tail and only slightly steeper.

Just set up my brother’s first board. Finally got him to get into skating at age 23.

Deck: Theories 8.5” x 32.25” x 14.5”
Grip: MOB
Trucks: Independent Stage 11 Standard 149
Wheels: 92a/54mm Ricta Clouds
Bearings: Bones Reds Big Balls
Hardware: Diamond 7/8 Allen (Boo’s Colorway)

I’m digging the shape of this deck. It’s quite similar to the shape of my 8.0” Quasi but with a longer wheelbase and obviously wider.  These Clouds seem perfect for a beginner, especially in the crusty Midwest.

Just went to the park with my brother and while this setup was a little weird for me in the street section (I ride 8.0-8.25s, Thunders and 99a 52mm F4 Radial Slims) it was absolutely amazing in the Skatelite bowl. Super carvy and the wheels gripped great but still had enough give to slide when needed.

I’m thinking about buying some of these wheels and throwing them in some Aces and Indies and having a separate board for transition.

I wish there was like a 95a 54mm wheel with with a Conical Full or Radial shape.  Something a little harder than these Rictas but not as slippery as 99a F4s.  How are the 97a Slime Balls?

This one is mint. I’ve seen the Carolina blue elsewhere, but it looks like they put out two colors.

Set this one up last night for this weekend. Tried the Ace and wheel combo on my egg setup but the WB was just too short, switching from the egg setup on ventures to this should be the same WB though. Looking forward to giving Ace another another go. I really liked them when I tried them years ago, but after 2 sets with bent axles I had to move on.

I like it. I tried 169 on 8.5 once and it was horrible. Def prefer magic carpet over frankendeck. Will run the 149 up to 9ish, anything over prob switch to my 151 or 169 indys

Skated this through the city a couple of weeks ago and it was a lot of fun. I have some Ace 44s on my cruiser, but I don't skate that board all that much, so this was my first time really "skating" Ace and I was very pleased. As many have said, the turn is something all its own and very pleasing after you get used to it. I had to do quite a bit of leg work to obtain the Spitfire AA wheels, but they are everything I hoped they would be. This is my first 8.375 board, as I have been skating mostly 8.125 and 8.25, but the bit of extra room is nice.

Fuck yes
