Woah, stoked to be back on the board(s)! When my son was born 2 years ago I pretty much put all my hobbies on hold, but I wasn't skating too much back then either. I kept the decks by the front door so that I would see them every day and I figured sooner or later I would take them out again. Maybe it was playing Skate 3 and then Skater XL coming out, maybe it was seeing little clips and stuff here and there, maybe it was all the new skate parks popping up near me, but damn it feels good to be rolling again now. Since I was never any good, I don't feel any worse now either. My old Polar was feeling a little mushy and apparently big boards are the things so I stepped up from 8" to 8.5.

I wanted something with a squareish nose and this seemed to fit the bill. It's a bit weird to be honest, like low concave but steepish kicks, kinda reminds me of the deck I made in shop class at age 10-11 (used yellow 40grit sandpaper for grip, learned to ollie on that board lol). But mainly it just feels more solid to have more space on the board, 8 inch feels so skinny in comparison.
Threw on some old barely used Indys with hard Bones from my cruiser, found some 52mm Koston Spitfires in a bag of random parts and bought some Reds and hit the park on my "lunch break". Had to black out that damn red bolt though, it was so distracting
