My brother was talking about getting back into skating, so a few months ago I bought him a Christmas complete with stim money. He's already lost interest and I guess it's mine now, LOL my ulterior motive all along. I have all big shaped boards right now, so I'm stoked to have a relatively small popsicle for flatground, ledges/curbs and mannys. My first pair of Ventures ever, sick to try some lighter trucks than my Indys. Not gonna lie though, the turn feels really weird... but I'll adjust to em.

Primitive Pricepoint Dirty P Deck 8.5" x 31.925" WB 14.3"
Venture Standard Polished Trucks 8.5" Highs
Spitfire F4 Radial Slims 54mm 101D
Spit Cheapshot Bearings
Generic Hardware
Primitive Grip
[close]
flat washers and softer/shaved bushings should get you right with the ventures
[close]
I bought an extra set of the black Bones Hardcore bushings for my bro (he is heavyset) and I'm thinking about swapping them out just to see how they feel. Now I wish I bought some softer ones cuz the stock purple Venture ones are surprisingly firm and stable feeling, I'm just used to a quicker turn after running Indys for 25+ years

FrozenIndustries: my bad
[close]
white indy bottoms and shaved down purple tops (7mm ish). riptides only make it better
[close]
What method would you use to shave the top bushings? I don't feel like lurking the Truck Setup thread LOL. Also what is a riptide?

flat washer on top and no bottom washer got mine turning real good

Uma Cody Chapman "Toenail Shape" 9 x 31.12, 14.3wb
F4 Conical Full 54mm
Indy 149 Standard
Bronson G3
Jessup

The G3's have been "good" I would say. I don't really feel any type of way about them, but they roll just fine. I've been debating this shape for a bit, we'll see how she goes but rolling around a bit before the rain yesterday felt nice. As a side note, Uma popsicle shapes look fantastic, probably gonna scoop one of those after this unless this thing is super fun.

Spent about an hour this morning blowing up my setups and incorporating my new Indys.

Top is my street/park board
Skate Warehouse blank 8.25” 14” wb
Indy 149 Hollows “Winkowski”
Skate Warehouse 52mm 100a (way better than they have a right to be)
Generic ABEC 7 bearings (again, waaaay better than they should be)

Bottom is Cruiser/Slappie
Polar Grund Norte Dame 8.5” 14.5 wb
Venture OG High
Mini Logo 58mm 90a A-Cut 2
Bones Red
Thunder 1/8” hard riser

I had the Indys on the Polar and quickly realized I needed them on a board with a steeper concave and less width. 149s on an 8.25 juuuust fit with one speed ring inside.
that would be crazy if your skin was made of hammers.

Man that grip art comes out swinging on a Wednesday.

Love that shaping you did too. I’m one of those guys that needs an indication of where my nose is. Kinda hard to miss here.

If it sways you one way or another, I am loving the 6.1s on this and feel like the 151s might be a similar vibe.

The middle one is my main board.
Krooked 8.25 sandoval shape
Indy 139s
54mm F4's
old ass swiss

The one on the left has gotta be getting close to ten years old. I used it a lot more when I lived at an apartment with crusty yellow parking blocks and curbs.
Heroin 7.75
krux
54mm mini logo 90a
super reds

On the right is an extra setup that I recently swapped out an older welcome for this one that I just finished skating as my main board. Love the shape too much to totally toss it.
Welcome slyph stick (8.25?)
Ace 44
spit 80hd 54mm
super reds.

Skating some adidas 3MC's I got at marshalls for $15.

Ha, nice! Hope you enjoy yours dude, my session today got rained out so I still have yet to give it a full go. I bet those ventures will feel real nice on that thing, I'm a little jealous!

Big Balls

Great looking set up. I got one board in front of this one, but I’m looking forward to skating it.

I haven't done this in forever, but I got tired of being fat and depressed and drinking too much all the time so I bought a new board. This way I can be fat and having fun in the sun while re-learning how to do this lol.

Anti Hero Blue Meanie 8.75
Venture 6.1
54 mm Spitfire f4 conical full 97
bones reds
jessup
diamond bolts

The grip is kind of a hack job but not terrible for being ~4-5 years out of practice. The trucks turn way more than I thought they would bone stock but that might be because I'm overweight, haha. I'm excited to get back into it.

EDIT: can't get the pics to post right so I'll just leave the links for now, whoops thanks @GardenSkater77 !

I’ve been skating Bronson raws for like six months now and haven’t had any issues with them.  Maybe they accidentally did a good job making the batch that my set’s from…
