They do still make the TiKings and this seems to be the only place to get Theeves in USA. It's where I got my set. I feel like hollow kingpins drag harder on grinds so that's why I went the TiAX route.

V1->v2 fixed the bushing bulge (never had it personally, but I never cranked them down, either)

V3 switched from the svelt 'ace hanger' design to the V-wing currently used (bending issues?).

There is an 8" pair of OG ti kings on ebay out of Japan =)

Wow, touche, that's nuts. Ain't no way in hell I'm buying them though. Every pair of mags I've had I bent, and although they say "lifetime warranty" on the baseplate, they'll never send you replacements. They're fun for a month until you either get a bent axle and cone your wheels or violently eat shit from catastrophic failure.

Doubt it, they stopped producing 8.5" due to axle bending, the widest they sell now is 8.25. 

They stopped producing ALL tensors for a new design; that's why some folks ended up with mag hangers and aluminum bases, ditching old stock (shady since they don't mention it anywhere).

That said, one would hope that re-design fixes the 5 in 50 (or whatever random ratio it is) axle bending, especially if they are making 8.75/9.0"...smart move really that's the dedicated slappy crowd territory.

Bummer man. My old 8.5s bent a little for me but still skateable. I've had a shit ton of 8.25s (most recent having aluminum bp's) and haven't had any bending on those. I actually kind of like having the aluminum bp it gives it some good weight without sacrificing the weight and grind that drew me to the ATGs

Edit: just to mention, I tried emailing them about the baseplate change and after multiple bumps, never got a reply back. I love the ATGs but the shit customer service bums me out

I’m curious about Polster trucks and Film Trucks. Polster says they’re actually made in Europe, and if they’re a good enough Thunder ripoff, they’ll rid ok I guess?

Polster stage VI feels like Thunders while the current model, stage VII rides like a slightly more turn-y Venture. The baseplates are recessed like Thunder. Kingpins are a bit high, they drag like crazy on smiths/feebles. Polster claims their truck are 54mm high, but they measure closer to ~50ish. The flat washers bend after one session. There's not enough room on the kingpin to fit a standard bushing cup. You'll have to get creative with inverted kingpins or chop down the roadside bushing.

Unfortunately the Polster axles slip and the hangers bend (I'm 145 pounds and jump down kinda big drops regularly)

Regarding Film I skated 2 sets in a row. Metal is "weird", it wears down very fast and grinds kind slow.
Turn is amazing, they have those interlock bushings just like Tensors.

I’m 185 lbs, but I don’t jump down stuff. At all. But I don’t think the Polsters sounds like great transition trucks.

That’s tensor measurements, they go by hanger width not axle.
5.5 is 8.25
5.75 is 8.5
6.0 is 8.75

So is Tensor not actually dead? I was wondering if it was still alive in some capacity due to them being in THPS 3+4. It didn't seem likely that a brand that was out of business would pay to have their product advertised in a video game

Looking for details, experiences, feedback on Royals vs Slappy trucks.

They both seem like middle of the road trucks that are generally liked by people who use them.

Main differences I’ve gathered are Royals are lighter and lower than standard Slappys. And Slappys have more kingpin clearance.

What about the overall ride, turn and pinch between the two? Is one suited for a certain type of skating or are there sweet spot sizes for either?

I’m currently riding AF1 55 hybrids (hollow hanger, standard baseplate) and have recently also been on Thunder standard 149 and T-II 151 and like them all but so far, if I had to choose one favorite, it would be my Tensor Maglight ATG (8.25”) that I just haven’t used lately because I’ve been on wider decks. haven't rode royals in over 10 years, but I just picked up my first pair of slappys (long time ace advocate) and they turn and grind amazing. I usually get truck madness but I haven't even had to loosen them. Out the case to the board and couldn't be happier. Can't speak to weight as that is not something I've ever payed too much attention to but turn and grind is awesome!

Would be surprised if you are in anyway disappointed with Royals, they are great trucks. Never tried slappys but am curious…
